Asking the universe

Recommended Posts

These days i've been asking the universe for things (great marks, transport to be early and chocolate) and I'm learning more and more how to ask the universe for things (like ask in specific and don't ask unless you really want it). So I was hoping you guys could give me your insight and feedback on this, if not then I hope you to learn to ask from the universe. I for simply ask, no meditating, fasting, burning anything or whatever, I literally just say in my head. 'hey universe, can I please get ___'. And the rest is history I suppose

This is an interesting topic to me. You said you asked for great grades (marks), for example. If you are in school, many schools have a bell curve grading system. That is, there must ALWAYS be someone at the bottom of the bell curve. If you ask the universe for great grades and if you would not normally have received them except for asking, then someone else must take your place at the bottom of the curve. In other words, in order for the universe to give you high marks, someone else must be downgraded to shape the curve correctly.

So, if you ask, the universe must sometimes take from someone else to give to you. If you ask for money or a promotion or general good fortune, it may have to be taken from someone else.

Asking the universe or gods or whatever for things has no effect at all. It may seem to because of confirmation bias, hindsight bias, and so on.

Why do you think reality bends to your wishes more than it does to the millions in poverty - are they less important to the universe than you? So you can get early transport, and they don't get good harvests or the mosquitoes leaving. That sounds more than a bit strange.

How would the universe get you good grades - uploading information into your mind, warping the perception of the marker? Um, no. You want good grades, you have to put in work. That's the only way... aside from perhaps bribery or threats. :)

At least having a clear idea in your mind what you want is helpful in getting it ,

so long as one does not become rigid about the feedback ( never satisfied because it aint perfect)

But the universe doesnt play favorites so dont rely on it for any.

What you say is highly logical. Yet I've seen and heard about synchronicities that go beyond chance. Its doesn't seem to be done by commanding the universe and its not ever a sure thing but there are uncommon people, often 'holy ones' who seem able to tilt a little piece of the universe in there favor in ways that defy probability. Why haven't they cured hunger and disease? Perhaps the universe doesn't bend all that much.

I'm firmly in the category of putting in the work to get things and not depending on wishes or fishes but the world may be stranger and more dimensional then we know.

It'd be a shame if it were and we ignored it.

the more you meditate then the more specific you can be.

Yogananda did this -- saying he would ask for something specific and it came true. Something that could in no way be an accident.

It doesn't have to be a conscious intention to ask - it can just be a desire that is in your mind and then you forget about it but then your wish is fulfilled.

This can be very simple things but also big things.

If you ask the question while in samadhi with the strongest magnetic brain bliss then the intention can come true in miraculous ways.

I could give many examples but also the universe will send information that is new or unknown -- not asked for - and then it will be confirmed later.

So you get a warning that prepares you but also if you train then you can be aware of these messages as predicting what will happen, etc.

The universe always answers but just be aware it may not always be what you think you want but more what you need!

I don't agree with this. The kind of energy that exists as the substratum of the universe, the sort of source that one would be 'asking' to gain some sort of effect from, is boundless and infinite. It doesn't require to take from somewhere to give to something--all one does is draw from the source and create more.

If it were the other way, then there would never be any point in doing good deeds--because the universe would always need to balance out and create an equally bad deed somewhere else.

If people lack something, it isn't because someone else has it--it simply doesn't exist for them yet.

Anyway, putting your faith in the 'universe' in this sense probably won't lead to anything exciting. One might see some results sometimes, but only intermittently or randomly. We don't even need to specifically 'ask' for anything either, since we are always vibrating our thoughts and desires and attracting or repelling things similar to those thoughts and desires. It's a weak attraction, to be sure, but its there.

One's best bet is to align oneself with one's desires and put action, thought, feeling, intention all to work in one's daily life. Then you will see 'miraculous' things happening. Fortune favours the prepared mind!

Well about my grades, I'm more like above average...well thanks for the tips guys, maybe while I'm at it, I'll ask the universe to cure aids, poverty etc. Thanks guys, and by the way, my friend says he thinks it's my subconcious, and not the universe, that I'm asking. What do you guys think?

Well, if it's your subconscious, I suggest cultivating a clear channel of communication with it. Try a subliminal meditation:

We may go through our days and there are hundreds of opportunities we miss. Walking past them unaware, because we have a fuzzy idea of what we want, but aren't awake enough to connections that could lead us closer to it. Maybe thats where the connection between subconscious and 'asking' comes in.
