ssmith7 Posted May 18, 2013 Does anyone know the difference between Chi Gong and Neigong? What are some examples of each? Im aiming to make my training as simple as possible. Shawn
voidisyinyang Posted May 18, 2013 Chi Gong means energy work. Neigong is considered more as "internal martial arts." Depends who is teaching. They can refer to the same thing. Traditionally the term Neigong was used by a different school in China - not sure who - maybe Wudang or I think it was Emei. So qigong is actually a term popularized by the Communists since it is nonsectarian. It used to be Daoyin - which means the passive meditation to increase the internal energy. But basically internal alchemy is the real practice whatever term it is called. You can study the book "Taoist Yoga: Alchemy and Immortality" for the details of the training - it's free scribd online or as a pdf.
