Everything Posted June 1, 2013 (edited) You will hate those who fight and slay those who fight. The pain of the impact will be your own and the flow of blood will be your own. But you praise the reign of warfare, and the blood that drains, are like rivers of sorrow, clearing you from all of your hatred. And the fury that boils in your blood, only shall it find salvation within cool touch of our very own earth's soil. To Tao all things return, so... Marblehead Posted June 1, 2013 Yeah, it really is sad, even when I look at it, after serving in the Army for twenty years. And for what? My personal philosophy always was defense, not offense. That is why I had a problem with the Vietnam War and I have a problem with the US and other allied nations being in the Middle East. (I have no problem with assisting with the Israelis defense. I know that some do and I accept there disagreement with me.) Â But sadly wars are a part of human nature - or at least the evolving of the human species as a whole.) Â As I mentioned in that other thread, I hold very little hate in my heart. I try to have none there but certain events are, IMO, hateable. Â But yes, all things return, one way or another. Chuang Tzu once said that a short life in no different from a long life.
Flolfolil Posted June 1, 2013 As I mentioned in that other thread, I hold very little hate in my heart. I try to have none there but certain events are, IMO, hateable. don't mind me, just my opinion here....but i think that a lot of people seem to make conscious decisions on what they hate or do not hate and ignore that even when they say they don't hate something they are still feeling the emotional effects of hate. not sure if this is true for you, but it is an obstacle i personally have to deal with.  i.e. a person wronged me and i am extremely pissed but i still love them vs. a person wronged me and i still love them  huge difference there. the second one never subjected their body to hatred at all it seems
