Census - Discussion

That surprise me - to see you say that you are a Discordian. I have spoke of the Chaos Theory.

I am sure you already know where and why I am so I will leave the thread for others to respond to.

Well, I already screwed this thread up, didn't I? Hehehe. Didn't mean to but I had words to say.

Yeah, I suppose I should do that, present myself. I'll work something up later. I need the time because I would want to be as honest and truthful as possible in making such a post.

I'm really not that knowledgeable of Discordian Philosophy but what I have learned of it from those who present themselves to be such I think that I can say that the philosophy is not all that different from my own.

By the way, I truly enjoyed your response. Thank you for taking the time.

Thanks. Some things are worth taking the time.

This was my favorite part:

Short, sweet, right to the point. :)

Hehehe. Nothing else would come to my mind. I told you I wanted to be as honest as I could.

Ideologies I follow:

Existential Hedonism

What drew me to them:

The realization that one person cannot have a lasting impact on the world's history; that if they do, they'll most likely suffer an unpleasant death; discovery of the little-known fact that one's life expectancy is determined mostly by luck and accidents as much as one's genetics and diet.

What regular actions became part of my life:

Sleeping till noon on my days off, pursuing pleasure on a daily basis (as opposed to vacations and holidays), trying to squeeze every last ounce of fun out of everything I do.

What long term benefits I expect to derive:

Less grey hair, more fun, more envy from friends and coworkers. (The last one is unintentional.)

What benefits I have noticed so far:

I sleep like a rock. 12-hour shifts at work got a lot more tolerable (especially after I convinced my manager to buy a giant bag of candy for the department and keep it 2' away from my desk mwahahahaha). Quite a few new hobbies.

We do not stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.

What benefits I have noticed so far:

I would rather not answer this question as it opens me to criticism from others, in a private discussion I might share more.

I read that as:

adaptability ;)
