Yeah, well, that needed to happen a long time ago.

Just look at how many ghost towns there are out west.

Those ghost towns are old mining towns which usually are back in the mountains somewhere.

military coup?

are you nuts?

america is in safe hands

To advocate that the NSA should police the White House and Congress is insane and illegal. Just as illegal as the data collection that the NSA is involved in. Quite frankly, your posts make little sense, just fractured syntax.

Yes, they served their purpose and now they are dead. Detroit is dying a slow death.

bled to death, that is.

would you believe that some high school superintendents retire on pensions of 300k a year?

and they go on to take another job!

there is another dog that needs to be shot: the post office.

Show me evidence of the 300k retirement. Exactly who will take over the function of the USPS? Privatize it? Good luck with that one!

it wouldn't be illegal if our politicians, as our representatives,

make it legal to render everybody transparent.

honest people have nothing to hide.

my posts make no sense to people who do not care for the greater good.

and a better and safer america

You must be an advocate of a police state! Your narrative smacks of fascist idealism and authoritarianism.

do you know there are no public post offices in some countries in europe like sweden?

those guys are far ahead of us is sorting out inefficiencies.

as for the retirement info, go check it yourself.

you don't need the nsa because that info is public

but if you are not american and you make inquiries

that would raise eyebrows and that could get the nsa

to check on you. :D

Yep. All public servants have been extremely over-paid for over fifty years. The government (all forms) are draining the city dry.

If I remember correctly, in its hayday the population was 1.3 million and now it is just over 700,000. But none of the government has been cut back.

You must be an advocate of a police state!

you have no idea what a police state is.

a state that is being policed is not a police state.

a state where the headman has the power

to reshape your face at his whim is a police state.

chomsky is messing with your mind.

You mean grocery stores and gas stations are not public? The postal service is still a government corporation:

The public today deals with its postal business at Postal Service Points, which are maintained in grocery shops and gas stations. Postal Service Centres are maintained for business clients.

In addition to regular mail, Posten is also the largest distributor of direct mail (addressed and unadressed) in Sweden (annual report 2005, pg.18 [1]).

Mail and package delivery is seen as very reliable in Sweden, but it has undergone large scale organisational changes and rationalisation in the last decade. Nevertheless, it is under ever increasing competition from private companies on the Swedish deregulated postal market. Their main competitor is the formerly private company CityMail, nationalised by Norway as of 2006. [2]

24 June 2009, Posten AB merged with Post Danmark to form the new holding company PostNord AB, owned by the Swedish (60%) and Danish (40%) governments.[1]

Main competitor is the government of Norway. haha.

You seemed to be incorrectly implying the postal service in Sweden was "private."

Who is going to enforce your ideal state? Jack booted storm troopers?

Your narrative makes no sense so why not go to one of the right wing tea bagger sites elsewhere online and stop the trolling.

is not the same as dealing with fat asses doing you favors

i implied that the swedish postal service

is not a public institution servicing the guys in the postal service.

Gas here shot up .29/gal overnight and 3 days later dropped .24/gal. An oil co. exec. admitted that at least 1.00/gal. is due to speculation. CFTC will do nothing about it. Paper trading without taking delivery with very little capital required and probably around 10/1 margin. Outrageous!

While I believe that individuals participating in speculation can be a healthy function (as in when you look at what the definition is and see in small cases where applied properly and not bastardized into a skimming operation, it does serve the function of shielding against large price shocks,) when it gets to the point we are witnessing where big banks and large players just manipulate the shit out of the market, that is raping the public, not speculation. Speculation is just a code word for siphoning at that point. Here we are just witness to a litany of various rackets that at this point in the (shell) game are all trying to take every last bit as much as possible out of the system before too much of the world knows how badly many of these things are set up just to extract as much paper as possible and then sell it off and covert it to hard assets that will be worth a ton after the shitstorm crash that looks like alllll but an inevitability at this point.

small potato?

organized crime across america is a multi-billion dollar business

much more than what the crooked politicians ....

oh, come to think of it, the nsa can go after crooks in the white house and congress also.

isn't this what occupiers and activists want?

yep, and if you had your head on straight, you'd realize that IS INDEED small potatoes compared to what the governments and the banks that own them do.

yep still public mail in the U.S.:

So we are taking the next step in right-sizing our retail network by studying approximately 3,700 retail offices to determine customer needs. As part of this study, we are introducing a retail-replacement option –– Village Post Offices –– as an option for affected communities.

Village Post Offices would be operated by local businesses, such as pharmacies, grocery stores and other appropriate retailers, and would offer popular postal products and services such as stamps and flat-rate packaging.

It's just because of automation causing job loss - nothing to do with obesity. Sorry.

I mean automation leads to more obesity - not less.

More emails - less need for postal offices.

And on that retirement plan?

The problem with present and past presidents is that the oath of office has been broken. It is their job to uphold and defend the Constitution as opposed to chanting the meme; "we are keeping you safe". Safe at the expense of our freedom.

Economists forecast the end of growth

HSBC Group chief economist Stephen D. King's new book, When the Money Runs Out: The End of Western Affluence, portends how the age of high economic growth will never return, largely due to the "exhaustion of various one-off productivity gains that boosted growth after World War II" and "a tripling in rates of consumer credit founded on an unsustainable increase in housing prices", among other factors. King disagrees with Gordon's worst-case scenarios, but agrees that the dividends that made high growth possible in the past appear largely "unrepeatable."
