Also, really tired of all the "we are going to make computers do whatever humans can do" stuff. How do they even know what humans can do?

The gist of it is they believe the many worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics is indeed correct.

 

That they are sharing processor resources with a growing exponential number of parallel universes equally as real as our own, all focused on the exact same problem.
