I dont recognize the painting and can't read the signature , Im assuming that no comment on your part is to allow uncontaminated comment.

Though some others like it , I cant say I am with them on this image, which strikes me as insincere , like its CGI or something.

Here's another one (isn't sacred mountain gazing another form of artistic expression?)

Keep them coming :)

He might be examining himself, or the sacred mountain, or filled with his emotions ,, but any- way that is ,, I couldnt see how that could be considered "expression" or "art " .. but it certainly looks like a very appealing place to stand.

it could be an expression of Internal Taoist Art ?

highly internalized still in harmony,,

my venture at it--

his attractive aura might have been the reason

Oh, youre thinking the image captures- the portrayal of his appreciation for nature which is the "art" .

Thats quite a creative spin , I like it.

some artists feel like art is at war with nature.

and i suppose that their art is.

some artists, like cezanne feel that art is in harmony with nature.

and i suppose that his art is.

some artists look to nature as the very creative source of inspiration.

van gogh was one of those.

He was inspired a lot by fire, as this drawing shows very clearly , the houses are going up in flames!

Burning the neighborhood down is not a very compassionate attitude IMO , the motif shows up a lot in many of his more popular works.

For the most part ,,If it isnt burning , it is falling down, or its a burnt out cinder.

The troubling part is that ones initial impression is of a quiet side street or growing trees etc

as you look at it longer ,, it is destroyed.

My art professors in college made us draw from Cezanne, Matisse and other impressionists. While we were drawing, he incessantly quoted from 'Zen and The Art of Archery'.

He's thinking "Why the hell is the photographer asking me to burn incense outside in the wind on top of a mountain?"

I assume that's an oil painting.

i suppose it could be called that. this interpretation of yours triggered the release of my stored up laughter from the hermetic mishap thread and then i saw this and nearly busted a gut. always let laughter out and do not store it.

anyways, it is more of sculpture if you will. this cristo fellow likes stacking oil drums and then began wrapping things up.

i have no idea whats its all about but i will fiercely defend that it is art as spiritual quest.

no comments on the picasso.

No, im quite attached to all my parts... I am even lamenting the loss of an appendix!

But art is a struggle for one who is not able to produce the vision...

I can barely tell the tale, let alone draw the world or compose its soundtrack... there is so much that goes into great works of art. sometimes, a great work emerges from teamwork... because not everyone can be a Da Vinci.

Da Vinci was worth 1,000 artists.

I need 999 yet.
