eullrich Posted August 24, 2013 Hello, Â I'm new here but have been reading up and practicing meditation and yoga for a few years now. I picked up a copy of the Book of The Dead, but never finished it. I also have 'Taoist Yoga' and got about half way through before I gave up. I just picked up Taoist Sexual Meditation by Frantzis due to a tip from this forum; looking forward to spending some time with it. Â In addition to toaist related stuff I'm also a big fan of Stoic philosophers: Aurilius, Senica, Cato. Ben Franklin is also an idol. Â Anyway, that's a bit about me. I've enjoyed the discussion here so far so I thought I'd say hi. Â If possible, I would like access to the personal journal section. Â Thanks! Â -E
Chang Posted August 24, 2013 Hi and welcome to the Tao Bums Eullrich. You will find much to discuss here from the Taoist Sages to Ben Franklin (who was something of a Taoist Sage himself). Â Please take the trouble to read the two pinned posts at the top of the Lobby and the Forum Rules http://thetaobums.com/topic/19575-forum-terms-rules/ before moving on. You will be able to get a personal journal by a simple request. Â Best wishes, Â Chang

Celestial Posted August 25, 2013 I've began with Frantzis' stuff. Any particular reasons to drop this path and follow what you suggested above? Â You mean you began with the Taoist Sexual Meditation book of his? Or did you do something else that wasn't mentioned in your original post?
eullrich Posted August 26, 2013 Well the first book I bought of his was Taoist Sexual Meditation. I recently inquired into lessons from local teachers that are certified under his Dragon and Tiger Medical Qigong; see here: http://www.energyarts.com/store/products/dvds/dragon-and-tiger-medical-qigong-set-dvd
Celestial Posted August 26, 2013 (edited) I don't think starting at Sexual Meditation is the right decision. I'd save that book for later. I don't know much about Dragon and Tiger Medical Qigong; but the word medical in the title suggests it has something to do with self-healing and healing others. Â Is your intention to heal? If so then perhaps that's a good starting point. The first book I referred you to is a grand history lesson and theories on Qigong. I recommend it to any beginner starting down the path of anything (medical, martial arts, enlightenment). Edited August 26, 2013 by Celestial
