Celestial Posted September 4, 2013 (edited) Is it possible to get a forum section dedicated to serious training? At first I thought that's what the Personal Practice Discussion section was for but as you may know, members post various topics that have nothing to do with the actual training. It's more of a live journal than a practice forum. Â It would be nice to have a section that focused on people (like myself) who train and see results and then have a place to talk about their training, give tips, share ideas, etc. If possible you should only be allowed to post/start a thread if you train seriously. At least twice a week. Any topics that are not about training or derail into arguments over which style/method of training is better will not only get deleted but that member will be banned from that section of the forum. Â I'd gladly moderate it, if you'd let me. Edited September 4, 2013 by Celestial
zerostao Posted September 4, 2013 not sure what serious training is? are you talking martial arts? me and my friend scott played some baguazhang thru-out the night last night. along the way the circled and angled into a bar or two, i cant say it was serious. of course scott has no problem putting a coconut to bits by slapping it as he walks (circles) past some unsuspecting hanging coconut. the tao bums doesnt have a strong strong martial arts flavor here imo it is about cultivating other aspects of life, self, tao, buddhists, eclectics, and a bum that does nothing but horse stance heheh  celestial, you are certainly free to start your own ppf and moderate it already feel free to mention it on the board so folks are aware, if it gains support, then we may think further on it when a friend of mine post a video here of him placing his palm on a red brick and (no strike) slightly vibrating his palm shattering the brick, no one really noticed or cared
BaguaKicksAss Posted September 4, 2013 I took it as Celestial meaning cultivation practice.... as in folks who have a specific practice they do many times per week. Â I kinda like the idea, however that huge debate of who qualifies and who does not.... who are we to say that a particular person doesn't actually practice. Â Also, such a section might not get a huge pile of traffic... (*cries for the inactivity of my Taoist magic section*)
Celestial Posted September 4, 2013 (edited) Yeah I meant both cultivation and martial arts. Â I see a bunch of threads scattered throughout TTB that could easily fall into the category of Training and be consolidated as such. Â As for qualifying as to who practices and who doesn't, the only way to tell is to monitor the posts and threads carefully. No point in posting in a TRAINING SECTION if you're not training, am I right? That's the whole point is to focus on those who do in fact train. BaguaKicksAss Posted September 4, 2013 What we want to avoid though is elitism and so forth.... Â I'll start a thread on it in the dungeon and see what folks think of such a sub-forum, and how it might be worked.
BaguaKicksAss Posted September 4, 2013 Hmmmm, I might have an idea on how this could work. Â We'll discuss it in the dungeon .
