daojones Posted September 11, 2013 Kinda random, but for a while I've been feeling weird with my feet.I have tendency to touch the soles together and that just doesn't feel good, almost draining of my energy? Not sure how to describe my feelings on this one.Another thing I do is cross my feet and then I just feel really weird. Again, I'm not sure how to describe what it feels like, but I don't like it - yet I feel compelled to do this on many occasions while sitting.Would appreciate any advice based on experience or knowledge from a system. Thunder_Gooch Posted September 11, 2013 (edited) Perhaps try sitting cross legged but not half lotus. hydrogen Posted September 11, 2013 Kinda random, but for a while I've been feeling weird with my feet. Â I have tendency to touch the soles together and that just doesn't feel good, almost draining of my energy? Not sure how to describe my feelings on this one. Â Another thing I do is cross my feet and then I just feel really weird. Again, I'm not sure how to describe what it feels like, but I don't like it - yet I feel compelled to do this on many occasions while sitting. Â Would appreciate any advice based on experience or knowledge from a system. Â How do you feel if you do similar things with your hands? Do you have the similar feeling? Â In general, one should feel good when two of the same body parts connect: two hands, two feet, two kneels, two elbows, two eyes, two nostrils, two cheeks, two breasts, two balls... I think you get the idea.
Aetherous Posted September 11, 2013 (edited) In the book "Riding Windhorses, crossing the arms or legs is said to disrupt the flow of energy (through the person, between the sky and the earth). That is all the book says very briefly.I think crossing creates a circuit and kind of locks the energy within the body, and it keeps you separated energetically from the macrocosm (so it's somewhat good for sense withdrawal and becoming internally meditative)...yet if you uncross your legs, it helps connect to the external energies (like the earth) a little more, which is considered better for well being.I don't really know but that's an idea for you....By the way, I also personally noticed that touching the soles together during practice was really draining of the body's energy. I don't know why that is; but as a result, I'd never recommend anyone practice anything with their soles touching together. Friend Posted September 11, 2013 So from what I read from you Daojones I understand you feel discomfort by the crossing of feet or putting the soles of feet together. Â From what I know there are two types from Kinesiology those system that ran crossed and those that are linear from the classical information. Â People who are in linear system feel better when they move the same sides legs and arms together. Â The energy flow is fast. Actually this is a non prefered state because one may take a lot of energy of not so suited energyforms and also may flush out too much energy before it had the time to do something in the body. Â General it is said that this sort of flow is unnatural to normal human as it happens if one is under stress and energy has to be fastend to mobilize the resource and that may burn up energy. This also occurs when energy is increased and is too much for the system to handle (overtraining on energetic scale) Â It is called "switching". Then one use deswitching methods (one can google for the methods) Â Else in a de-switched state normal movements are weakening and drain oneself by for example normal walking, left hand right feet, right hand left feet. Â The problems in deswitching is that the one or the other state is dominating which again can be used for advantage but the middle state is that one has both balanced for daily life. Â So when one cross something: Actually what happens is that the current is closed. The energy exchange is minimized and internalized also slowed down, which again leads to restructure of the energyflow inside the body and nourish the body. But those whose leg channel have not developed well will damage their leg channel by long sitting, because it cut of the flow. Â Actually this sort is good to have energyflow to maintain the body erect with no effort which is more difficutl than sitting on a chair or standing because the force of the earth is minimized to raise the body. Â So this is why it is prefered to use a crossleged posture to internalize and still the mind and redirect energy into the upper part while press more force down in enhancing the leg channels. Â Sitting on a chair which is a posture to keep open to external forces but maintain a balanced energyflow with no concentration in any part of the body else switching of the flow can be done by movement of arms or postures of hands. This is good after able to crosslegged so one do not trick onself with the help of the legs energy to make the upper body errect. Â The above work is need so one not trick oneself and build firm inner strength in this manner else one trick oneself with standing which use more earth force (levitationsforce vs gravitation). Â This is needed to maintain the state in the body when one change posture (and we do a lot in daily life) standing, sitting, crossing uncrossing etc to maintain free flow without interruption and lessen repeated recalibration by the body. Â Since you expirience discomfort. -Deswitching is the first thing to consider. -Reduce overall Stress in life, less fast movements -Next thing is to build inner strength so that one do not rely on outer force that much -as well to have a sudden change which disrupt the "normal status quo" energyflow in the body. -Reduce the Qigongtraining, reduce the speed actually energy flow slow in the body and one need slow speed to be more in sync with the energy until the energy flow is natural faster than in the moment. Â So a little share here from my expirience results.

The toaist morning routine I know is as following. (do these very lazy and relax just like a morning person who's not fully awaken).  --Strech your back and have a big breath (yawn like).  --Wash your face (with both hands without water, circle around face, fingers lightly brushing face)  --Brush your teeth (with tonge wihout water, swirl your tonge around inside your mouth)  --Comb your hair and mustache (with hands only)  --Smell the flower (nose sniff air a few times)  --Wake up the neighbourhood (shout out a big and long Om or any sounds you fancy).  It's a good method to boost energy anytime when one feels tired. It takes about five minutes.  I'll experiment do it cross hands to "de-switching".
