FokusFyre Posted September 17, 2013 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lhMnSzOEe1E A boy has begun mediation since 2005 for many years straight without food or water, his goal... nothing less than saving the world. He was documented without food or water for 4 24 hour periods straight. Most would die after 3 24 hour periods from lack of water.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ram_Bahadur_Bomjon  http://www.etapasvi.com/en/news/91/maitriya-message-given-on-the-completion-of-tapas-on-may-20-2011  AND his message upon completion of his Tapas!!!^^^  Most holy of messages! FokusFyre Posted September 17, 2013 Sorry had to post more! This is going on even as we speak 2013! http://www.etapasvi.com/en/news/155/puja-in-chitwan-in-2013-student-experience http://www.etapasvi.com/en/photoalbum/91/blessing-program-in-chitwan-in-2013 http://www.etapasvi.com/en/ Yummy Tapas, Aioli! Though maybe a more accurate word would simply be disciplines or practices. Im sure it was very difficult though to meditate 6 years straight without a moments deviation... thelerner Posted September 18, 2013 (edited) I don't like when people turn spirituality into spectacle. It tends to destroy it. I'd rather he be respected and left alone. Â And thats exactly what seems to have happened in some later stories; problems with people and the spectacle. hydrogen Posted September 18, 2013 Man, he's a guru. Â He managed to stay mighty high for years without drugs. AND he managed to have people sponsor his addiction to his own pleasure worshiping with Kali. AND he managed to stay healthy and wealthy. AND he managed to have people listen to his world like messages from high above. Â He did all those without doing anything. Â If this doesn't proove the power of meditation, I don't what else can convince you.

As I read meditation is the one of the last steps of to be immortal. For me for example it would be deathfull to seat for a long time and not to eat. For such practices your body already must have elixir in it, otherwise it would be corrumtion of the body
