RongzomFan Posted October 5, 2013 (edited) Me: How do I learn all those pujas? Brahmin priest: Are you interested? Me: Yes. Do you have to be a Brahmin? BP: To do pujas for others you have to be a Brahmin. To do pujas for oneself you can do, but you have to go to school. Me: Ok, where do I go to school? BP: India Me: What about all those Indian kids born here outside India BP: We have a sunday school, where you can learn some simplistic bullshit. Jainarayan Posted October 7, 2013 He's full of shit. There is a western white woman convert to Hinduism who is studying to become a pujari (priest). His comments and thinking are the kind superstitious silliness in religion that make me crazy; it's religious elitism. And personal pujas are done daily by hundreds of millions of people.
RongzomFan Posted October 7, 2013 There is a western white woman convert to Hinduism who is studying to become a pujari (priest). That's not possible. Where is she learning?
Jainarayan Posted October 7, 2013 France. Female pujaris do exist. Pujaris are mainly brahmins, but not exclusively.
RongzomFan Posted October 7, 2013 I don't see any westerner learning those complex pujas.

RongzomFan Posted October 9, 2013 Yeah these pujas are way too complex. Even the "simple" ones. No wonder the Brahmin priest was like, what the fuck are you talking about?
