BaguaKicksAss Posted October 8, 2013 Y'all likely haven't changed your password since you joined (or in the past year) anyways . But here is the info of a recent annoyance. You will also soon have received an email stating the same thing. TTBs members, we are emailing to ask that you please reset your passwords. Make sure that they are at least 8 characters long and NOT any words which can be found in a dictionary, common pet names or your birthdate. Capital letters and characters are also good. Basically we have an ex member who has made a few attempts so far at compromising people's accounts on here. If you have received a password reset email, please PM the tech team and let them know the IP address of the original request (which is at the very bottom of the email). Also if you had a short password which was a regular word, please just quickly double check your account before changing your password. It is a good practice to reset your password every 6 months on each service anyways. If anyone has forgotten their password, just use the password reset function. Or if you still are having trouble resetting it, or need help with it, please PM the support team.We have checked extensively and have not found any accounts which have actually been compromised, so all is good. We are just taking extra precautions, for obvious reasons. Tech TeamAdmin Concierge team

Trunk Posted October 10, 2013 Basically we have an ex member who has made a few attempts so far at compromising people's accounts on here. If you have received a password reset email, please PM the tech team and let them know the IP address of the original request (which is at the very bottom of the email). Just to emphasize that part of it: Someone has tried (unsuccessfully) to hack TTBs and sent false password reset e-mails to a number of members. If you got a pw reset e-mail that was not initiated by you then do not click the link in the e-mail that confirms the password change. Just one of those little TTBs adventures, Trunk
BaguaKicksAss Posted October 10, 2013 Instead, come on over to TTBs, and change your own pw to something that isn't in a dictionary, is long and involves some capitol letters or numbers .
Apech Posted October 10, 2013 liJXNVKSJ98JPIFUAHPFIOPFIH ... THAT'S NOT MY PASSWORD ITS JUST HOW I FEEL TODAY.
BaguaKicksAss Posted October 10, 2013 That would be a pretty good pw, perhaps add a &$%471 to really make it bulletproof. Good luck with remembering such a pw though . Phrases are easier, the first letter of each word of some fave phrase for example, y'know like TTC chapters. Hey folks do that with the lord's prayer for spiritual/magical reasons, why not TTC passages for pw reasons?
Basher Posted October 11, 2013 Have just read this thread & have now changed my password, from "Password".
BaguaKicksAss Posted October 11, 2013 I *hope* you are kidding . Though some people do use that one. Actually I tried to use that one on some non-important online software thing, and it refused to let me choose that as a pw LOL.
Basher Posted October 11, 2013 Yup, totally kidding BKA. :D Although I used to work in a huge Office & one guy kept updating his Password by simply adding "1" each time. So he'd have "BlueBird774" written on his blotter, then cross thru it & update his p/w to BlueBird775 Those pesky Hackers would never be clever enough to figure that one out. Basher888
BaguaKicksAss Posted October 11, 2013 You've changed your pw 888 times so far? Kidding.
GrandmasterP Posted October 23, 2013 Wow how exciting. I've left my password as it is for now. Tried to change it but it told me the one I chose was already in use which is spooky because it was a truly obscure password with numbers and all sorts in it. Hope everyone is well on TTB. Warmest best wishes to all. GMP

Kar3n Posted September 24, 2016 My password is only 7 charachters, is that ok? Or should i change it? Your password is fine. As far as we are aware, there is not anyone on the boards attempting to hack or otherwise maliciously gain access to member accounts at this time. This thread is from 2013.
