Brian Posted October 22, 2013 Weird. It isn't universally broken -- works fine for me w/ Windows 8 (Version 6.2 (Build 9200)) and IE 10 (Version 10.0.9200.16688).
dawei Posted October 22, 2013 I am curious how people think or know they are not logged out? I use Chrome and don't experience this but want to understand the issue. DO you click Log out but you seem to still be logged in? Did you press the F5 key to 'reload' the page so it can say if your still attached? I would not simply log out, then sign in again to find your automatically attached (logged in)... but refresh the page.
xor Posted October 22, 2013 (edited) I sometimes can only logout if I close the browser. This happens with both midori and firefox(linux). I haven't tried replicating what causes it but I have a hunch it may be related to flash-videos. So could it be a flash cache issue? Brian Posted October 22, 2013 I signed out, confirmed that it showed me as signed out, refreshed for good measure, confirmed that I was still signed out, poked around to verify that it didn't know which threads I had read, and then signed back in (entering my password) to post my response above. Brian Posted October 22, 2013 Curiouser and curiouser... I decided to reproduce the steps above and take a couple of screenshots and now I can't sign out. I click the button and it just refreshes the screen (taking me to the homepage if sitting elsewhere...) Deleted the cached web password and closed my browser (confirming in Task Manager that no processes were still active) and I'm still logged in. Don't have time today for any more investigating, though...

However this is not the case at home, I log out just fine

Thanks This is another item to leverage upgrading our version Can you test something, being staff. Use a test account to login in and out. Then log in using the moderator account and see if that test account appears logged in? I only wonder if what could happen in some cases is the machine is auto connecting someone based on their IP but in-between, they are actually logged out. thelerner Posted November 14, 2015 Why would anyone want to log out?

I only wonder if what could happen in some cases is the machine is auto connecting someone based on their IP but in-between, they are actually logged out. Made test account. I could log out at the first attempt. Having relogged in I was unable to log out again therefor could not test the ip theory in firefox. I did however test this theory in another browser and could successfully log in. I did not get auto connected into the Mod account during the test. This problem does not occur in chrome or IE but only in firefox. Potentially a problem caused by the way firefox handles cookies... so i am told.

Marblehead Posted November 21, 2015 No I distrust it if I haven't got a disc to repair it! The reason I asked is that on my computer I had the same problem with both Win 8 and an still having the same problem with Win 10. I am using "Pale Moon" as my internet service on this board and I have no more problems.
