I never really doubted that there were advanced civilizations prior to recorded history and to be honest I'm not sure how valid this is, but it is a start towards a more objective understanding of history.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Osmanagi%C4%87_pyramid_hypothesis

The article refs quote Davidovitts the Egyptian concrete guy … although I have respect for his findings and discoveries and his financial success due to them ( re geopolymer technology), his pyramid theory just doesn’t hold up.

The article is riddled with tells as well , the refs are in Russian and even in Russian the names of certain characters stand out .

The gloss ( by quoting National Geographic) is quiet silly (ancient people had a profound purpose) .

For further convincing follow the links and see the adverts … why not pay the good doctor for one of his guided tours.

I might go myself to see Gobleki Teki as there are some strange things to be worked out there, but in this case we are looking at a date of 10,000 BP and it doesn’t take much to stretch the P.I.E. peoples Empires back to then - they did supply the migration stock into the Nile Valley after all (in case one doesn’t realise, the Ancient Egyptians were not Africans.)

Good stuff. I am for anything that breaks historians out of the notion that they know it all, and history is how we have already written it down - with no room for edits.

Pre-Ice Age Civilization evidence has been around for awhile and all it needs is something like this to make everyone go back and reanalyze it with a different perspective.

All of the above is: IMO.

So with some further digging. I found that this article actually forgot to put in all the facts about the pyramid and it's "research." The guy conducting the dig (Osmanagic) isn't really an archeologist and has put a lot of false information out there.

Here is an article which offers a different perspective on the issue.

This guy makes money out of fooling the government and people who are looking for hope and a new national identitiy and does tours for new age nuts that want to believe anything like this without examining it as it somehow assures them of what they wish the world was like (for some reason ???)

Him and his workers are carving the hill out to resemble a Mayan pyramid and caving out tunnels saying they are old tunnels that have been filled in.

Riiiiiight !

Just a few notes from the Smithsonian:

In The World of the Maya, which was reprinted in English in the United States, he writes that "Mayan hieroglyphics tell us that their ancestors came from the Pleiades....first arriving at Atlantis where they created an advanced civilization."

In another work, Alternative History, he argues that Adolf Hitler and other Nazi leaders escaped to a secret underground base in Antarctica from which they did battle with Adm. Richard Byrd's 1946 Antarctic expedition.

"His books are filled with these kinds of stories," says journalist Vuk Bacanovic, one of Osmanagich's few identifiable critics in the Sarajevo press corps. "It's like a religion based on corrupted New Age ideology."

When I first read about the pyramids I thought it was a very funny joke," says Amar Karapus, a curator at the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo. "I just couldn't believe that anyone in the world could believe this."

In early 2006 Osmanagich asked a team of geologists from the nearby University of Tuzla to analyze core samples at Visocica. They found that his pyramid was composed of the same matter as other mountains in the area: alternating layers of conglomerate, clay and sandstone.

"What he's found isn't even unusual or spectacular from the geological point of view," says geologist Robert Schoch of Boston University, who spent ten days at Visoko that summer. "It's completely straightforward and mundane."

"They're called ‘flatirons' in the United States and you see a lot of them out West." He adds that there are "hundreds around the world," including the "Russian Twin Pyramids" in Vladivostok.

The belief that Visoko was a cradle of European civilization and that the Bosniaks' ancestors were master builders who surpassed even the ancient Egyptians has become a matter of ethnic pride. "The pyramids have been turned into a place of Bosniak identification," says historian Dubravko Lovrenovic of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Commission to Preserve National Monuments. "If you are not for the pyramids, you are accused of being an enemy of the Bosniaks."

"I think the pyramids are symptomatic of a traumatized society that is still trying to recover from a truly horrendous experience," says Andras Riedlmayer, a Balkan specialist at Harvard University. "You have many people desperate for self-affirmation and in need of money."

In April 2006, twenty-one historians, geologists and archaeologists signed a letter published in several Bosnian newspapers describing the excavations as amateurish and lacking proper scientific supervision. Some went on local television to debate Osmanagich. Bosniak nationalists retaliated, denouncing pyramid opponents as "corrupt" and harassing them with e-mails. Zilka Kujundzic-Vejzagic of the National Museum, one of the Balkans' pre-eminent archaeologists, says she received threatening phone calls.

Similarly, in a 2006 letter to Science magazine, Schoch said the hills in Visoko "could well yield scientifically valuable terrestrial vertebrate specimens. Presently, the fossils are being ignored and destroyed during the ‘excavations,' as crews work to shape the natural hills into crude semblances of the Mayan-style step pyramids with which Osmanagich is so enamored."

He points out various boulders he says were transported to the site 15,000 years ago, some of which bear carvings he says date back to that time. In an interview with the Bosnian weekly magazine BH Dani, Nadija Nukic, a geologist whom Osmanagich once employed, claimed there was no writing on the boulders when she first saw them. Later, she saw what appeared to her as freshly cut marks. She added that one of the foundation's workers told her he had carved the first letters of his and his children's names

Yeah, I just don't get why it's so difficult for people to use a little reason, think "claims that contradict all the prior evidence need strong evidence" and just use the same Google they found the article with to check the sources, research methods and so on. :/

Well I don't know either way, but I thought it was interesting. I still believe that there is more than enough evidence to support the idea that advanced civilizations predate recorded history, if not simply because of Athena Statuettes, the numerous forms of currency that we've found that we have failed to link to any known civilization. Add to that the numerous similar tails of a former civilization that seemed to be known throughout the world, Atlantis for one, and one wonders why there hasn't been anything found to date, unless there might be some kind of cover up to keep it hidden from the rest of us. Of course I don't believe that's so, but I'm not going to discount it. Think about it, if there was an ancient civilization capable of producing energy through natural means, that would seriously put the current energy companies in jeopardy. Since these companies hire the best intelligence agents in world, as well as former special forces operatives, one wouldn't be surprised if they tried to discount any evidence that might support these finds.

Of course advance civilisation predate recorded history ... we know that from the Early Vedas and Avestas, archaeology, etc still that doesn't prove anything about giant-biggest-in-the-world-pyramids in Bosnia.

Oh of course !!! When a faker finds something it is 'Irrefutable Proof' but when nothing is found it is a cover up

It isn't hidden ... it IS OBVIOUS - look at the time .... the currents situation ... what happened to the Minoans ... the effects in Egypt and the remains at Santorini etc. etc.

Oh well ... I guess you just proved it - by that deduction.

What about this for a cover up : Ancient people were so brilliant that they built things like the Great Pyramid with natural ability and tools and what was available and their OWN INTELLIGENCE ... and we nowadays are so DUMB we cant figure it out ... but we cant admit that so we will believe in stories about UFO assistance and levitation beams and and and to make us still try to feel some superiority even though we cant do any of that and are destroying environment so badly that we may not be able to survive anymore

That Aaron is a cover up!

Do you realise that the Moon landing (only just back then) was done with the computer power of a good modern day mobile phone and today the guys at NASA are dumbfounded about how they actually did that back then with such limited technical ability.

HI Nungali,

No need to try and carry on a conversation with me, when people reply to me with an attitude like you have, I tend to ignore them, which I will be doing with you in the future. Obviously your opinion seems to be the only valid one, so why bother, right?

Well even National Geographic made a documentary of Gobekli Tepe. So this archaeological site is already mainstream knowledge.

Actually my first 'opinion' on this was swayed towards it hopefully being correct as I believe there were advanced civilizations before history ... look at Gobleki teki ... with this centre; I was very curious to hear about that so I looked up many sources and read about it and saw pictures of it that are very unambiguous. Soft sciences (like history and anthropology are stumped by it and cant really explain how it fits into their picture and they admit that and are thinking they may have to revise their idea of history.

I did the same thing when examining this' Irrefutable Proof' .... a lot of falsity and suspicion abounds ... even from other fellow scientists in Bosnia.

No I don't think my opinion is the only one valid as , unlike some people, my opinion is flexible and changes as information and evidence and logic is collated together to form an opinion but it still remains fluid ... not set in stone .

I also find ignoring challenging opinions and information not conducive to forming a clearer opinion .. but each to their own.

I would also like to add that one should read the Smithsonian Paper on these Bosnian 'pyramids'.

Another thread around here about ancient peoples had an article referenced that sounded good - it seemed to have valid proof and cited a Mexican anthropologists paper.

I looked for that paper and it was hard to find, I found it and read through the more than 20 pages of small print text. No where in that article did it say what the original article claimed.

However I realise many people don't do or have not time to do the back up follow up and research.

When there is a media-mess it becomes increasingly hard to determine what is really going on :( I personally am interested in the whole picture, not so much, whether there is a bosnian scammer or not :P Gonna check this Gobleki stuff out aswell :)

But guys, take it easy, I think we are all on the same boat here anyways. We are all interested in the idea that the recorded history is actually not the real history, that there has been some epic stuff going on way before the academic mainstream has dared to envision it.

I have lost my appetite with science, I mean when you look at any of the beliefs that we had only 20 years ago in the realm of science, most of it has already been proven wrong, the longer you go back the more that happens. Why shouldn't it happen again when we go instead forward? It is retarded to take science as given truth, it is nothing but an educated guess based on the current evidence, which is going to change anytime and go to any possible direction from there. Science at best can be seen as a process, but for some reason even scientists themselves have trouble remembering that and staying "objective". For some reason they just don't take into account that whatever revelation they may find, will in 100 years be the work of a retard.

Recorded history is only PART of the story. Then people make up theories to try to explain the PART of the story or with PARTIAL evidence.

I doubt that few people see this as the whole story. Some people see it as the whole story , then reject it (even though it isn't supposed to be the whole story in the first place) and then see a historical conspiracy.

But I suppose .... after watching some of the pop 'history' shows ..... who can blame them?

Human (some of us) love to think we know everything .... in the late 19thC. scientists declared there was nothing left to discover :D
