"why is it that I am able to ask questions?"

 

the second one that came to my head:

 

"how much reality, of the whole, am I actually experiencing when I touch taste smell feel see think"

The most powerful question is the most timely question. "Where's the remote control?" is THE question when a family sits down to watch a movie. "Is Jesus our savior?" would be the wrong question to ask at this time, and "who am I?" ditto, and "what's the meaning of life?" ditto. For every question, there's a perfect, imperfect, and dead wrong time to ask it. "Are you cold?" he should ask when he sees me shiver, not "are you enlightened?"

i have this story in the back of my mind about a witty disciple who approaches an enlightened master and says:

"what is the best question I could ask you and what is the best answer to it?"

whereas the master says: "the best question is the one you just asked and the best answer is the one I'm giving you now."

If you can look deeply enough into this question, all the others answer themselves.

 

 

A student of philosophy walked into class after pulling an allnighter. Brain fried and weary, he asked his professor, "Sir, do I exist?"

 

Replied the professor, "Who wants to know?"

 

 

 

Science is answers that must always be questioned.

 

Philosophy is questions that may never be answered.

 

Religion is answers that must never be questioned.

 

Politics is answers that lobbyists pay for.

If you can look deeply enough into this question, all the others answer themselves.
