soaring crane Posted December 14, 2013 Dogs terrified of walking past cats: a dramatic compilation. Oh, haha! I missed this when you first posted it, saw it at FB. So funny and sweet :-) Our poor dog WISHES the cats would play with her. Whenever one walks past her cave (under the dining room table), she runs over and grabs the first toy or bone she can get to and then jumps out in front of the cat with the object in her mouth, hoping the cat will try to wrestle it from her. But alas. Cats don't play them games. They usually sit down, purr, and start a staring contest which drives the dog nuts.
Brian Posted December 14, 2013 An injured stray moved into our neighborhood years ago, a young orange male we named "Winky the One-Eyed Wondercat." IT took a few weeks before we realized several people had been taking it to different vets and coordinated our actions but he roamed the neighborhood for several years before meeting his demise. Winky and our female Fiest, Della, had a love-hate relationship. After the passing of time, the hate faded and we would often find them curled up together in the sun, but they also quite enjoyed taunting and terrorizing each other. One of Winky's favorite games was to lure Della under one of the wicker porch chairs and then quickly leap into the seat. From that perch, Winky could watch the possible escape routes and, with claws retracted, contain Della in this improvised prison. Della was the smartest dog I've ever encountered and clearly knew how the game was played but she simply enjoyed it, too.
