SonOfTheGods Posted December 20, 2013 (edited) Note: The Bible- Also the Pseudepigrapha, Apocrypha, Nag Hammadi scrolls, etc Koran- Howard P Lovecraft- his works Aleister Crowley- Book of the Law Helena P. Blavatsky- her works Scientology Christian Science Mormonism- Joseph Smith New Age Channelers: Ramtha (I don't know any others) We can add other works, infamous or not. Tibetan, Egyptian, Sanskrit, -Afterlife journeys, etc What does it come down to? What individuals are emotionally/spiritually/physically/mentally aligned to, at that current period. Cultural, National, Financial etc., Politics, and/or Agenda, behind the credibility? Who controls History? Those who invest the most. Who "pushes" what becomes popular? The Mainstream Media can either make or break it. First, new material is ignored (especially if it goes against mainstream) Then the author is attacked to lose credibility Once the majority places interest, it is Acceptable. Captain Mar-Vell Posted December 20, 2013 ... A strange thing I have noticed throughout my life. Is that I sort of think things up and then they get externalised big time. One example is my fringe and esoteric interests stemming back to oh let me think. Well, since I can remember I have had these thoughts; Who am I? What am I? Where am I? What am I supposed to be doing here? Then catholic religion.. and children's fantasy and science fiction in books, tv, film and comic books. And then one day, I was browsing in the school library, which was I must add was an all boys private Catholic Brothers school, I found a biography of The Great Beast, Aleister you know who Old Crow himself. I took it out and read it. Odd read to be sure, I thought. And odd to have that in our school. Anyway on to D&D.. ooh spells... paging Jack Chick.. do read the comic at the link... funniest thing I ever read; http://www.chick.com/reading/tracts/0046/0046_01.asp Anyway, now magic is become real. Had you noticed that? Apologies for rambling. Maybe more later, if no one chastises me. ...

Captain Mar-Vell Posted December 21, 2013 (edited) ... I agree. The idea that H P Lovecraft was channeling anything other than his own warped dreams and twisted visions is more than a little far fetched. Who were the most well respected channelers of the twentieth century? I've never really read much channeled materials, only bits here and there. I was always rather sceptical. ... SonOfTheGods Posted December 21, 2013 The only claims I've ever seen that Lovecraft's work was channeled were made by fans decades after his death. Maybe the word "channeling" has been over used, misconstrued, and became a broad paint brush? In another thread I started, I mentioned "Cultivate" has also become over used and used interchangably to define a host of various meanings. Lovecraft had some vicious dreams. Where do dreams come from? The Bible makes note of prophetic dreams. Dreams can be considered channeling- as the dreams are channeled from the subconscious- symbolism is the subconscious language. Captain Mar-Vell Posted December 21, 2013 (edited) ... I'm embarrassed now. I certainly don't know as much as your good self. Accept my apologies. But do tell me more. Unless its going to give me nightmares. I presume dreams are an expression of the dreamers waking thoughts and life, typically. Although yes, via the subconscious certain contacts might be made. I probably should meditate upon this. Come on Son, gimme some more to work with here. I might actually be some help to you, you never know. I know I'm just a silly little hobbit. ...
