I cant find my favourite, it is the great war between the cats and mice, with the animals dressed up as Egyptians and others, battling, in chariots, etc.

The other general themes (still common) are animals doing what people do. And particularly Cats having to fulfil a subservient role to their mice rulers.

When I was at the youth hostel in Monterey I met an Egyptian lady there. She had an oud with her, and played some traditional Egyptian songs. Then later on a lady from Japan sang some traditional Japanese songs. Then they got together for a few songs, it was pretty neat. Trying to find the oud playing vid I took of one of the Egyptian songs.

Patiently waiting ... I would LOVE to hear that.

I also saw Colin do a performance in a little kung-fu type of out fit, the stage was covered in gongs and other percussive instruments on stands and hanging from cords and he moved around in come type of 'form/pattern/kata' striking and kicking them in this fascinating little' tune' ... there seemed to be some correlation between the form and the tune but beyond me ( I talked to him later about it but he ended up 'hypnotising me with an impromptu demo of the range of sounds he could get from the eagle feather ; boggled :o
