GrandmasterP Posted April 5, 2014 (edited) Teaforthree 10-1 Big Shu 16-1 I don't fancy either but those are the closest to Tao-suggesting ( to me) names of horses in the race today. Edited April 5, 2014 by GrandmasterP
Captain Mar-Vell Posted April 5, 2014 (edited) ... Hmm. Teaforthree sounds good. Shame it's not eleven to one. But I only bet on Sure Things. Except of course where Pascal is concerned. ... Edited April 5, 2014 by Captain Mar-Vell

Captain Mar-Vell Posted April 5, 2014 (edited) ... You didn't go and put money on Teaforthree did you? I said to only bet on Sure Things. Go on then man, jus' coz I like ya. My beak's flappin'. I'll tell you a story. Not long after my sudden, prancin' about like King of the World, I had an idea. I know! I thought. I'll help my family out with money! I can see the future, they can make a bet! So I figure. I, the world honoured one, come from Liverpool (well, the Wirral (that's Wirral! Not wirrn!) but mum's side from Liverpool). The bird of Liverpool is the Liver bird, the phoenix. I am the phoenix. Plus there was a message on car number plates. I don't recall exactly what, but it indicated to me that Liverpool FC would win the english premier league. They were doing well in the league at this point, late 2011. So I told all this to my aunt. Unbelievably, she went and put money on Liverpool. Needless to say, LFC failed to win the premiership. Do not put the Lord thy God to the test. See, if you try to show off or get too selfish, it all goes haywire. Siddhis. Who needs 'em. ... Edited April 5, 2014 by Captain Mar-Vell
Captain Mar-Vell Posted April 6, 2014 (edited) ... One more thing. There is always an irony, you know. Everywhere I look, I see irony. Isn't it Ironic. I'm famously teetotal. It wasn't Teaforthree that won. No. It was a glass of Pineau. on edit: It's ironic that my wedding day was a day of glorious bright sunshine. ... GrandmasterP Posted April 6, 2014 (edited) Back in the dim and distant as a young nursey- boy I was medical attendant at Mann Island on the Gorree in Liverpool. Doing medicals for the Merchant Navy ' British Shipping Federation'. Great city. The Wirral is a bit posh isn't it? Karma is good sometimes. Dropped £30 quids on the National yesterday then picked up £75 sovs on last night's lottery. Edited April 6, 2014 by GrandmasterP
