beyonder Posted April 9, 2014 "Personality"? That's basically an empty concept. Just act spontaneously, not thinking of the past because it already happened, not thinking of the present since you can't hold on to it, not thinking about the future since it can't be predicted, not attached to ideas, things or people, just living in the present without any ulterior motive, and there is no need for such empty concepts, since one is "formless". Â My 2 cents, anyway.

MooNiNite Posted April 9, 2014 by stripping away the layers of bullshit
amoyaan Posted April 9, 2014 (edited) Personality is a construct and the idea of being a 'person' is ultimately an illusion. The 'person' and personality we adopt (persona) is usually driven by our unconscious tendencies, conditioning, programming, etc...in vedanta they call it the vasanas, coloured by the gunas (no, autocorrect, not 'tunas'). Â I think the more we clear out our crap and 'strip away the layers of bullshit' as MooNiNite said, the more freedom we have to express who we want to be with clarity and freedom. We can cultivate qualities we might like and root out those we don't want. Sometimes it's a matter of 'faking it till you make it'. I watched Kumare the other week and was struck by how a completely fake charade actually changed the guy pretending to be the guru and his disciples. Unseen_Abilities Posted April 11, 2014 Amongst other things, I came across the Maxims of the Oracle at Delphi, and put into practice "Know Thyself" - those two words can lead to many questions, and ultimately answers as well.

Spotless Posted April 13, 2014 if you got one, and its no good.what do you do? Â I found fasting to be one of the most profound and quick ways to recalibrate and get a real glimpse of what ones has built up. Â It brings the momentum to a trickle and brings with it space and calm and quite a bit of time.
Spotless Posted April 13, 2014 (edited) if you got one, and its no good.what do you do? Look at what ever exercises those aspects you deem "no good"  It is usually diet related:  A diet of Hate Radio and Politics is not good for judgment and neutrality.  A diet of processed garbage and booze or weed fosters depression.  A diet of remorse and living in the past dissipates all the rungs up on the ladder.  A diet of imagined dirty dishes piling up in the future makes headway overly burdensome  A diet of looking in the mirror and naming what you see rather than seeing what you might be Edited April 13, 2014 by Spotless
