soaring crane Posted April 24, 2014 (edited) Styrax ??? Sounds dodgy. Storax (I think) is a tree resin from the Liquid Amber tree .... oh noooooooo...!!! hahaha So, what's the English word for clearing a room with for example that olibanum stuff? PS - I was wrong about Styrax (from the tree Styrax officinalis), it originally is the sap of the tree, but for some reason, it's black and looks like charcoaled wood, and as you said the sap of the Liquidambar orientalis is more common now. Someone told me once that it was perfumed and I just went with it. I love it! Styrax together with Mastix is a heavenly combination. Together with Dragon's Blood they're a strong clearing/purifying method. Edited April 24, 2014 by soaring crane
GrandmasterP Posted April 24, 2014 (edited) What an unusual pipe. I prefer a trusty full bent briar or hand carved Meerschaum. Each to his own though. If you enjoy pipe smoking then Mr Carey's Number 7 Black Shag Mixture is as fine a tobacco as ever I've come across. http://www.tobaccoreviews.com/blend/5422/e-a-carey-europe-no-7-ready-rubbed Edited April 24, 2014 by GrandmasterP

GrandmasterP Posted April 24, 2014 (edited) Salt's your best bet for clearing spaces. Table salt will do it. Just cover a little saucer with salt and have that somewhere in the room. In our path the old folks used to use half a cut onion in a saucer if anyone they didn't like was visiting. Once the person went the onion was thrown on the fire. ( We all had coal fires back in the day). One time my gran showed me a cut onion that was going onto the fire after a neighbour lady had been around pouring out her tales of woe to my gran who was the village medium and unpaid 'listening lady'. That onion, which was cut fresh, was as black and rotten as if it had been out for a month Edited April 24, 2014 by GrandmasterP
