SecretGrotto Posted April 24, 2014 Spirulina in a fish tank in front of a window that gets sunlight. When fresh, it is tasteless with a consistency of butter. It's the densest protein you can cultivate in a given space, and you can almost entirely feed the growing medium with urine. I once did the calculation, and if I remember correctly about 10 sq. m of growing area will produce the RDA of protein for one person, indefinitely, with minimal nutrient additions required after each harvest. However, Spirulina is chock full of iron and other elements, and to take your protein RDA with Spirulina alone would mean you will have to regularly donate blood to avoid iron buildup.
