GrandmasterP Posted May 11, 2014 (edited) My heart leaps up when I behold A rainbow in the sky: So was it when my life began; So is it now I am a man; So be it when I shall grow old, Or let me die! The Child is father of the Man; And I could wish my days to be Bound each to each by natural piety. Â ( Wordsworth). Â The child is indeed mother or father of the (wo)man. Where else would our inner-child go? Edited May 11, 2014 by GrandmasterP
doc benway Posted May 11, 2014 Has anyone seen the film  "The day the earth stood still"  Where an alien comes to earth and all these military "officials" and "government leaders" act like theyre in control and fuck everything up by trying to kill the alien  That is the way I see much of society  People being led by the least among us  Also adults are really children  There is no differentiation in some respects  Its not like someone becomes some mythical non human/child  Everyone has weaknesses/flaws a human side etc  and then some people love to act like theyre in charge and they know everything  A lot of people on this forum do that too  Hey, watch what you say about kids! Adults are much worse than children…. It takes decades to develop that level of ignorance, greed, and callousness. Kids are much closer to Buddhahood - open, generous, and genuine.

Twas ever so and I see little chance of it changing in my lifetime.
doc benway Posted May 11, 2014 It sounds trite but all we can do is to be the change we would like to see. I see more tolerance and compassion in my children than I had at that age. I see many young people engaged in worked for change. In my own life, as I attempt to embody qualities like compassion and understanding, I see people around me reacting differently. All these things are encouraging.
johndoe2012 Posted May 11, 2014 Does a realized person see anything wrong in the world? Â Seems like conceptualization?
thelerner Posted May 11, 2014 Well screw those murderous Aliens. They're certainly more cold blooded and murderous then us Earthers. Our military in charge of protecting us was overzealous, but they were pretty happy to murder everyone. Â Perspective is so important. In both movies they're portrayed as heroes, but by there actions, they're genocidal. As far as young versus old, hopefully ones perspective expands when one is older. Experience should expand it. Not always, sadly sometimes it calcifies.

johndoe2012 Posted May 11, 2014 Â Forget about "realized people"...do you see anything wrong in the world? Â I know I do. Yes I do. Â But it could mean my view is not clear. Â I know a lot of things bothering me say a year ago don't bother me anymore.
