GrandmasterP Posted July 17, 2014 (edited) Just looking at this thread and the other mopai threads I almost cringe at what the official mopai students must think of us (westerners). So with being said Id like to say this. Dear Official MoPai Students, We westerners are interested in your school but we respect and honor your right to privacy. I know there has been ugliness in the past please forgive us as we are not all like this. The concept of honor does have a place with us westerners. Hopefully this virtue is something that we can show in the future. I thought so as well. Then I started reading the Buddhist boards on here. Compared to some of those super- snippy Buddhabums even the most fanatical MoPai believers on here are pussy cats. aboo Posted July 17, 2014 I am in total agreement JinlianPai that MoPai privacy should be respected, and their wish not to include westerners. It's been highlighted a number of times in this thread, but Ken and the others never really respond and answer this point. However, I think you are going too far to issue an apology on behalf of all westerners. You can only speak for yourself not others. Personally, from what I've seen of the world, there is greedy and power hungry people the world over. I find it kinda offensive when people, be them westerners of easterners, try and portray all westerners as "something", if westerners did it to easterners they would be rightly classed as racist or some 'ist'. bluefire Posted July 17, 2014 I think that like Jiang, they just know that westerners in general are faaaaaaaascinated by qi tricks, so you wind up with a collection of kids who will chase after enough power to do the tricks with that sole goal in mind, and think that parlor tricks are the standard by which you and your practice should be judged How would you "judge" (choose) if you have some dozen paths before you but no deeper knowledge and limited experience? joeblast Posted July 17, 2014 (edited) Find what's common to everything and learn those fundamentals, then have a much stronger basis from which to choose when refining the path. We are all our own witness, we all judge to varying degrees the information presented to us. Without gaining a bit of the bigger picture, it makes it that much harder to see where you're going. did someone leave a window open and let the bluebird back in? I'll leave out the analogies of a group of 4 year olds watching porn and considering themselves experts on sex... Edited July 17, 2014 by joeblast

Ok thanks. did someone leave a window open and let the bluebird back in? I'll leave out the analogies of a group of 4 year olds watching porn and considering themselves experts on sex... Concerning the spoilers I'm not sure if both are directed towards me but this is ttb and I'm happy to learn here as long as they accept me. I never said I'm a expert in these concerns the opposite is the case for me.
joeblast Posted July 17, 2014 only the first one, since MPG returned as 'bluebird' and plenty of us wouldnt be surprised if he made another sock puppet just painted a little differently. the rest is directed at any of the western mo pai...attempters. Ah ok I didn't get that reference first. But I don't believe I will post enough for that. My practical experience isn't that deep so I prefer usually to read and throw here and there some questions or try to challenge something to learn instead of talking based on my half-baked experience. joeblast Posted July 17, 2014 If that's the case, best avoid anything that say mo pai on it My advice, master breathwork first to attain deep stillness. Plenty to work on there, and it sets you up well for the deeper more potent stuff. That's one of the biggest problems with the western mo pai group, they are practicing from half baked writeups - if fundamentals arent mastered, powerful techniques become dangerous. Mastering breathwork would be something like ymaa embryonic breathing while sitting & stillness?
joeblast Posted July 17, 2014 YMAA EB is a great book, should be on the bookshelf of anyone who practices meditation, imho. Great start on the fundamentals. I made a ton of progress basically just practicing that when I started out 10 years ago. Have a read on some of the threads in my personal practice forum here, plenty of notes and snippets.
GrandmasterP Posted July 17, 2014 (edited) So bluefire is MPG? How can we know that? ( Unless he starts swearing at us course). Edited July 17, 2014 by GrandmasterP

Brian Posted July 18, 2014 So bluefire is MPG? How can we know that? ( Unless he starts swearing at us course). I think it an unfortunately timed similar-sounding nom de plume.

silent thunder Posted July 18, 2014 Well of all the things I might not know about MP, having never heard of it prior to coming here; there is one thing I know for certain now... I don't want anything to do with it.
bluefire Posted July 18, 2014 (edited) or he could explain why he is using a ... freemail account but appears to post from ... Nothing is what it seems.... Can you please remove the specific location of my ip? If there is serious evidence about me being someone else we can discuss a witch hunt. Before that I would prefer if admins don't start to post private details about me they don't post about others. Edited July 18, 2014 by bluefire

Anyone a member of the MPG sewing circle, I've got a twenty they're laughing at my response and extrapolating it to me saying anapana is the be all end all of practices....while they all sit there never having realized the fruit of the practice yeah, I was going to do that too Edited July 18, 2014 by joeblast

dawei Posted July 18, 2014 This is worth bearing in mind: http://thetaobums.com/topic/35211-mo-pai-puppets-and-sleepers-banned/ We may be doing a 'proxy purge' as this is against our rules and is giving us major headaches in terms of consuming time and resources.
bluefire Posted July 18, 2014 I sent you an email. Please respond so I know you got it. thanks. Thanks for the edit but Joeblast has already quoted it. @Joeblast: Its funny you know I have something like a list of posters here whose comments concerning practice I value higly. You are on it. And no matter what you post concerning me I have still high respect about your practical knowledge. I can see somehow how one could get to the conclusion about me being related to mp as I sympathise with aspects like "we prefer to see abilities as proof", "there are only a limited number of paths to get you really far" or "to progress far a high amount of time is necessary". On the other hand mo pai is for me a dead end for western unless something changes. But at the same time I have no interest in "fighting" someone I highly respect concerning their practical knowledge. So I will just step back and stop posting about mo pai on this forum unless I have a specific question or its something which concerns me.

gatito Posted July 18, 2014 As of this post I reckon that you are MPG. If you're not then you've a twin online who you've yet to meet. If it is MPG then it's time for him to consider whether he wants to renew his TBs membership by contacting admin privately and attempting to negotiate mutually agreeable terms for his return or whether he should simply stick with the Neigong Forum and stop creating sock puppets.
