What ultimately brought us temporarily away from the blissful state we were in as childs?

Recommended Posts

Remember yourself as a child, the same being you are now but when this physical form was young and fresh. Straight from the maker. And then look where you are now. Where most people are.

Confusion and pain. Often external stimuly to get near to that stage of happiness.

A few years ago when my conscious journey started I asked myself why I was happy all the time when I was a kid. Probably 'the' question that starts it for everyone, a longing back to an age where everything was flowers and sunshine.

What happened in the meantime? Main cause: Free Will?

Is this why there is a term, 'Grumpy old men', always unhappy, caught up and weighed down by their preconceived notions/conditioning.

But if you were one of the fortunates whose childhood was great , thats great.

Children are generally happy from innocence; adults have to carve their way to happiness. The adult happiness/bliss, when uncovered, is tempered with fore-knowledge ripening hopefully to wisdom, whereas a child's bliss is tempered with pre-knowing, minus wisdom.

In this context, wisdom implies the on-going ability to discern what are good habits to cultivate, and to exercise discipline, determination, joy and forbearance in the instillation of such in daily activities, without the need to delve analytically into the past to root out old traumas in order to find closure and set things right. This is a waste of time, imo.

" The girl that once I was lives on in me. Where else would she go?"

( Camille Paglia).

I'm a grumpy old man sometimes.

I enjoy it.

Be content in any state or condition cos that's all there is and all that we ever have 'right now'.

Moods are like waves and waves are part of the ocean.

Waves come and go but the ocean abides.

Taking on too much baggage aka social conditioning.

I recall when my friend was going to have his first child... I would laugh at him and tell him that he will condition the natural freedom right out of the child within few years.

One day, several years later he was interacting with the child and I started to laugh... he looked at me seriously and then started to laugh himself.

One of the first words a child learns is 'no'... And there you go... :)

If Id had better parenting, my attitudes wouldnt have needed the upgrade :)
