bhaktipoet Posted September 3, 2014 Hi Everybody, I'm a professor at Utah State University and am teaching the Daodejing right now. Today, at the end of class, a student asked, "Why does the Dao say you should be free from desire, when desire seems the most natural thing for humans and all animals." I'm sure your question will generate a waterfall of replies once it makes its way into the Daoist forums :-) Please take the time to read the two posts pinned at the top of this Welcome page and take a look at the forum terms and rules.
