I was looking for something and found this

Anyway what it DID show was ; 3 entries down and links to

To edit my profile ? ! and gives that weird page .... can anyone access that via google ?

Or is it some internal Google chrome ID thing that only links me to my own profile page.

 

Its weird as I got inside my own TBs profile page from an unrelated google search .... its happened before, but this time I decided to save the addresses to ask about it

 

I can understand why a search may throw up a TB thread on the subject in the forums, but why would that search link to my posting record on my profile page ??????

I did a little investigation and apparently all of the public pages are available on Google for a simple search like 'tao bums any user name' and up comes what seems to be a link to all of the posts on the Tao Bums by that user name on public parts of the forum, which does include profile pages and some public features of them like the 'find content' button, but not on protected forums, such as personal pages or the pit, at least as far as I can tell.

 

There do seem to be limits to how much someone who is not signed in can see, and thus limits on nonmembers also.

Also to note, google can also show you areas which it doesn't show the public. For example I could get backroom results via google when I was staff.
