Edward M Posted October 12, 2014 The only book available as far as i know on Chow Gar, is written by Paul Whitrod, someone who has really mastered the art and can use it to great effect. Have met him once, a very pleasant guy!  http://www.chowgarsouthernmantis.com/onlinestore  All the best, Edward

GreytoWhite Posted October 13, 2014 You could always e-mail the folks over at PlumPub.com and ask for recommendations. I didn't see anything for Silat but they do have some Jow Gar. Â http://plumpub.com/sales/dvd/dvdcoll_jowgar.htm

GreytoWhite Posted October 13, 2014 There are some good in person Silat teachers around . Â There are good teachers for any of these arts, just a matter of how much you want to learn. It doesn't always get dropped in our laps.
Unseen_Abilities Posted October 14, 2014 There are some good in person Silat teachers around . I'm quite busy with lots of stuff right now - there's a local Silat guy who held a seminar a few months ago that I went to and enjoyed...great feel...but I can't take on formal lessons right now. Â The Kuntao/Silat book that C T linked looks perfect for now.
GreytoWhite Posted October 14, 2014 If you're not set on Pencak Silat and wouldn't mind something a little more Chinese then Willem deThouars' Kuntao is quite good IMO. Â Â Â Â
