innerspace_cadet Posted September 19, 2007 I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of books or web sites about "sitting forgetting" meditation in Taoism. I would like to try this type of meditation. Thanks.

I like http://civet-cat.skandinaviskzencenter.org...ings.htm#taoist good resources but not specific to your question
Taiji Bum Posted September 20, 2007 The "Cloud of Unkowing" is the best book I have found on it. Its Christian but if you were to change the rare Father, Son and Holy spirit talk with the Three Pure Ones you would swear you were reading an ancient taoist book. Â It states that you cannot "know" God by intellectual striving but God can be known experientially. It instructs one to put a cloud of forgetting below you and between you and the things of this world and a cloud of unknowing above you and between you and God (Tao) in meditation. It's short and simple but one of the most profound mystical books ever produced in the west in my opinion.
