soaring crane Posted February 28, 2015 No more rebirth and suffering. There are many here who don't suscribe to either of those religious concepts and, truth is, I feel that religious belief is one of the biggest blockages of all. It's a bit of a conundrum, as I see it. On the one hand, you don't want to cling, but then you have these two huge logs jamming your stream and you're holding onto them with all your strength, afraid of letting go, ducking under the water in faith that the flow will simply take you where you need to go. ("you" being the modern generic English pronoun, of course)
Rara Posted February 28, 2015 well, I mean blockages caused by anything, really. Mental, emotional, egoistic, physical. Add whatever layer you like. And I guess some would argue metaphysical, as well. When approaching energy work from a qi standpoint, I think it's the flow that is important. Qi is even sometimes defined simply as the flow. It isn't the river's water but the river's dynamic. So anything that hinders the flow, hinders the whole. It's what I feel, and by "feel" I don't mean it's my opinion but rather my experience ... something like that. Hope it helps It does Especially with this word "flow" I've been thinking a lot about what it really is to meditate...and the sense of good blood flow created from the concentration on breathing is key for me. The simple concept of getting oxygen in to the blood and having healthy circulation. But also, as you say, mental blockages or stress...how this then leads to physical tension. So I guess to an extent that massage is also "qi cultivation"? I guess also acupuncture therapy etc.
blue eyed snake Posted February 28, 2015 Generally, there'll be a rush, and then a bump. eh, the rush I understand, sometimes it feels like that. but a bump??
Nungali Posted February 28, 2015 Sounds like the rush running in to the next blockage.
Vanir Thunder Dojo Tan Posted February 28, 2015 "Qi Cultivation" means practicing an artform that is conductive to the generation, circulation, movement, and utilization of intrinsic omniversal energy (Qi) for the purposes of improving my health, wealth, and Qi Cultivation practice itself. Vanir Thunder Dojo Tan Posted March 1, 2015 as so ever possible, yes. but the tragic flaw of living in civilization is the co-dependency civility breeds and enforces... Thank god for what i've learned here on The Bums! ANY Qi cultivation is better than no cultivation!! and i just lucked out big time with all the help everyone has given me over the last 4 years!!!
Rara Posted March 2, 2015 LIFE is qi cultivation. Notice what you are cultivating in every moment. Simply pay attention to your life. If you strive for increased flow, adjust your actions and reactions accordingly. And keep track of the results. Yes...sometimes I wondered if many thought that it's all in the Qi Gong or Tai Chi etc... But for me, a nice warm bath or spending good time with my family also has to count!

Astral Monk Posted March 3, 2015 haha..qi 'cultivation'...like you can plant a qi seed, grow a qi plant, and harvest qi fruit! till the qi land! But isnt the land, the fruit, the plant, the seed all filled with and made of qi? So what can be cultivated and what can be harvested? 8)

But I admit that I'm curious what will happen when the worst blockages are cleared... blue eyed snake, in my experience: once your energy body is partially/fully functional and has gained the talent and the freedom to move about, you can begin to watch yourself do the actions first, and then in your physical body you can do your best to keep up or just watch and enjoy.
