Nungali Posted December 25, 2015 (edited) I quite like Graham Hancock but I have admit that I threw Finger Prints of the Gods across the room it was so frustratingly inaccurate. He takes some good ideas from other people and writes readable publicity for them I have to say - particularly the re-dating of certain phases of early human activity. I throw the book across the room when I start to detect that , not only the inaccuracies but the ' subtle' way they try to plant things in the reader's mind; Now, dear reader, we see Apech has a cat picture .... (later ) having a cat picture may indicate he likes cats, or actually is one ..... as we saw previously, Apech may be a cat ...... the cat Apech this ... the cat Apech that ...... as we demonstrated earlier , Apech, clearly being a cat has indicated ..... they had lots of cats in Egypt ..... this clearly indicates Apech is an Egyptian ... Sokar (Seker) is a mummified hawk or falcon god who was associated with the necropolis and in particular in the AmDuat appears in the deepest section of the underworld called the 'imhet' which means something like completely full of darkness. This is the part of the underworld where the soul of Osiris and the soul of Ra embrace/merge/unify which causes rebirth - so I guess this is where the reference to baby sun comes in. Well, you did well to winnow that out the whole pile ! It seems a very minor association , like taking one phase and aspect of a small part and re-interpreting it to create a slightly skewed picture .... a bit like saying Horus os the patron of Pirates as he lost an eye in battle. Thats what they do, use flimsy connections, often self postulated. When people read them, they just accept it ; Sokar is baby Horus .... Apech is an Egyptian . Then start building up on what is, if not a false premise, at least a shaky one ... but that is insignificant as ... The problem with the jesus = Horus theory is that they are not similar at all and indeed the supposed similarities have been invented. So then original premise is a self interpreted minor interpretation to support a latter theory that is BS. Typical ploy. But people love this stuff ... so who cares if it is actually right or not. Even when they get exposed for using dodgy or fake evidence. Some people still believe in the 'Chariots of the Gods' ... and 'The Morning of the Magicians' .... Wait .... "The Magicians of the Gods' thats where he got that title from the main myth cycle associated with Horus is the Contendings of Horus and Set where Horus fought his uncle for the throne over 80 years - during the course of this he tore off his uncles testicles. Now you show me where Jesus of the Gospels tore of his uncles testicles - or indeed where he showed any interest in a throne - apart from being mocked as king of the jews. Or where his uncle gave Jesus some lettuce to eat with 'special mayonnaise' on it ? (Dont mind me , its Boxing Day .... gotta box someone .) Nungali Posted December 25, 2015 (edited) Thanks, Nungali. Looks like there's a disparity between the formal beginnings of Freemasonry as an organization, and the mystical arts and mathematics that are attributed to Euclid of Egypt, around 300 BCE. That could be because the link between them was lost or is now unknown , or , there is no link like that. Perhaps it started as an informal brotherhood early on and then became more delineated as an organization or formal brotherhood. Perhaps ? Thats why I like the terms 'history' and 'mythological history'. Often a group's 'history' ... even its 'mundane history' reflects the historical view of the time the group was formed , so later on when we get a clearer picture, it is realised to be 'mythological history' . A bit like secret societies that do teach sacred and ancient Egyptian mysteries that were formed in Victorian times ( although they say they go back to antiquity ) show a very 'post-Victorian-a la Budge' understanding of Egyptology. Moving forward to someone like 'Om-Sety' , that had a great knowledge of ancient Egypt due to being previously incarnated there ... well, nowadays, after all the new research and findings, she is shown to have just expressed the current understandings of her time, not actually ancient Egypt at all. ( That is, with her postulations - she was known to be a reliable researcher and field worker in archaeology .) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dorothy_Eady Edited December 25, 2015 by Nungali

Go build a stone boat and float it down the Nile. ... and I do walk like an Egyptian ... I spend most of my time in bas relief.
