Sorry , I dont watch long youtubes , how about your summary of the ideas?

revelations is an interesting book , I have heard some great interpretations, including these two I liked;

1) It is about a process of opening internal gates or 'chakras' ( type of post Victorian, ..... 'Masonic Yoga' interpretation )

2) Old AfroAmerican saying they saw the beast as the racially biased entrenched system of oppression, Martin Luther King as the 2nd jesus arriving and helping to lead and deliver them and the successful outcomes and new equal rights society as the New Jerusalem ( Not that I am sure things have not reverted somewhat :( )

I don't do long youtubes either. Is that Gematria as in taking Hebrew words and translating them into numbers and considering similar numbers to point to the same thing? I had a few meals with Guru Gil many years ago in Jerusalem. Gil had translated the entire 5 Books of Moses into Gematria. A book that read like a quarterback waiting for a hike. You get instances of gematria every now and then in sermons. I find (like a good corporate accountant) you can get the numbers to point any way you want.

Its slightly more refined than numerology in that 'sacred languages' often dont have numerals so a letter is used;

If I have 1 rock , I would write down " I have (aleph { 1 } ) rock " ... 2 rocks - I have (beth) rocks. Values go 1- 10, then in increments of 10 ; 20, 30 , some special forms of letters (finals, etc. ) are in the 100s.

The a word is totalled with its value and words of similar totals are supposed to have some interrelated significance

Like the total number for God and Devil are the same .... :) ... so <shrug> who knows what it is supposed to mean ?

Mathers and others put out books and tables on it . I dont see it as having any great significance, except another complexity to argue about ;)

We see the authors of the Bible use gematria occassionally, but in a much different way than the sages.

For instance the aleph has the number 1, but its name
אלפ
means 1000. the doctrine is related to the word and gematria play/

2Pe 3:8 ¶ But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day [is] with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

Consider John's usage:

1Jo 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

1Jo 5:8 And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.

The word for heaven has gematria of 3. The three consonants represent the Spirit, Father, and Son

The word for earth has gematria of 3. The three consonants represent the Spirit, Water, and the Blood

Their use is more related to word play than to mathematical substitutions of meaning.

---

The four-legged shin is not used in any word. It is the real source of the tradition that we aren't supposed to say the name of God. The very existence of something you are not supposed to say, tempts you to say it. So the target was moved from the four-legged shin to the name of Yahweh. We say it all the time without consequence.

The unpronouncable letter has a meaning, related to the relationship of God and man, that is so enticing, that it would cause the elect to stumble if that were possible. This guy doesn't know it's meaning, but has stumbled upon a closely related temptation.

Each thing he says has mostly truth, and then he throws in a critical error.

He is only seeing 1/4 of the Bible and misses the point because he threw out 1/4 that he could have read. I'll be sharing all four layers. in the sensus plenior thread. I'll show how to solve the riddle in an objective way, rather than the subjective way that he uses to impose meaning.

Though admittedly, he says a lot of stuff most of the folks here would like to hear.
