Pleased to meet you. I'm a semi long time lurker here but have found a thread that I'd like to post in. I'm a former Marine and served in the Iraq war. When I got out I was a mess, had nightmares, was drinking quite a bit, etc. I spent about a year and a half spiralling down before I realized that I needed to make a change. I began meditation 4 years ago and it has one hundred percent turned my life around, a permanent reward for a temporary effort. Thank you for taking the time to read this, may you find whatever it is that you're searching for.

Please take the time to read the two posts pinned at the top of this Welcome page and take a look at the forum terms and rules. This covers all you need to know when getting started.

Welcome. Or... semi-long-time-coming welcome :)

 

I'm sure many would be very interested to hear what your meditation practice is like and how it's helped in your particular situation, if you're ever willing to share more....
