C0NPAQ Posted April 3, 2015 I am not religious, I merely came to this site because I have chosen to neither masturbate nor have sex. I understand that people here do the same for similar motivations. I still have various issues as a result (slight mania and abdominal pain) which I seek to solve.

Aetherous Posted April 7, 2015 Exercise can move things to prevent stagnation from occurring. Also, if you think sexual thoughts or see sexual images, it will begin the process of sexuality, so it's best to avoid those things in order to be celibate in a healthy way. For instance, attempting to not masturbate or have sex after looking at porn is not a good idea. Hard to do in society at times, where "sex sells".And finally, if your emotions aren't elevated, then the sexual drives won't get elevated above physical sexual expression (and those drives don't stop the minute you decide they should)...so having a spiritual practice, for instance where you cultivate virtues or contemplate things like universal compassion and love, can help transmute the sexual forces. It eventually becomes a higher expression of them.

You are in luck then that you found this site. This the University for spirituality, it's choc full with intelligent people. Also, Spirituality and Religion are not the same. I am not religious at all(never was), but I am very spiritual  As for the sexual desire thing I recommend that you check my story out http://thedaobums.com/topic/38025-my-story-porn-masturbation-suicide-drugs-demonic-possession-and-meditation/, I had a hefty masturbation/sex/drug addiction. I still have sexual desire, but it has gotten a lot less since I have started producing more shen(spiritual understanding/intelligence). It's all thanks to chanting 'namo amituofo' and Vipassana/letting go. My thread will give you a good entry point.  Welcome,  Jos Edited April 8, 2015 by Josama
