Henchman21 Posted April 20, 2015 (edited) I feel that this is a rather advanced practice and should not be dabbled with lightly. When I practice this, the sensations that travel up my spine and into my head are very strong. It bothers me that these do not continue back down the conception vessel. Does this mean I am cooking my brain? Am I getting distracted by the sensational aspect (side effects) and worrying too much? I am concerned, as recently I have been 'retaining my jing' (in quotes but I think this forum will know a lot about seminal retention.) In addendum I would like to mention my training habits, so you have an idea of where I am at with my cultivation (beginner status.) This has been my habit for a couple months now. I practice mantak chia's universal tao basics; the inner smile and six healing sounds. Once a week I do an hour yoga class, the teaches says it is vinyasa but the gym calls it power flow... Every day, sometimes twice, I practice seated meditation with crossed legs, focusing on regular abdominal breathing with my mind placed at my LDT. I always thoroughly acupressure my face, head and groin. Also I submit to a guided relaxation every night before bed, a yoga nidra on youtube. I fall to sleep within 5 minutes thanks to this. Source Posted April 23, 2015 I tried this out when starting out almost a year ago now - came to the same conclusion that it is much more "chi push" to reverse breathing. Decided to chill until I have some mastery/depth to normal deep breathing.
voidisyinyang Posted April 23, 2015 To open the pineal gland in fact the middle of the brain will get very hot like it is on fire. The shen spirit energy combines with the qi energy from the pineal gland - both originate from the heart but the prenatal heart - your formless awareness from before you were born physically. So then when the pineal gland opens up it is based on synchronized electromagnetic energy - light-force energy that is harmonized and so it is a laser-type energy. That's why it feels so hot because a laser since it is harmonized based on quantum energy is hotter than the sun. So then visualize light in the lower tan tien - and do horse stance with thighs parallel to the ground - this will focus your energy in the lower tan tien to ground your energy. You want Quick Fire energy in the lower tan tien - so whether you call it reverse breathing or not - the lower tan tien is called the Cavity of Spirit-vitality which means it is where the fusion of shen and qi energy manifests and builds up. By doing horse stance with thighs parallel to the ground then the sublimation of energy up the spine is up the back of the spine because you flex the glute muscles and relax the PC muscles - and stretch the pernineum. This empties out the conceptual mind - so by emptying out the conceptual mind then the sublimation increases the pineal gland qi which then increases the spirit light shen from the heart which then descends to your lower tan tien. So make sure to keep your tongue against the roof of your mouth to enable the descending of energy to create your lower tan tien. It is the microtubules that resonate with ultrasound for the laser heat created by the brain - that is the heat - the water is a quasi-crystal and so causes proton conductance - as sonofusion and then light from sound - acoustic cavitation of water from piezoelectric pressure from the sublimation of the cerebrospinal fluid. So then your spirit shen energy has to be surrounded by the electromagnetic qi energy which gives the spirit energy its force - otherwise the spirit energy is just a yin shen ghost that you can't control. So then you have to store the spirit-qi in the lower tan tien but it is expressed out of the pineal gland via the heart - those three tan tiens become unified through the central channel. The heart is the original unified source of the spirit-qi energy from before you were born - and so is the eternal impersonal soul energy. What causes the qi energy to descend is the left side vagus nerve that is your reptilian vagus nerve that controls the heart - it is that deep fight or flight reaction that causes animals to "play dead" - to be completely motionless in fear. This works for reptilians and for going into hibernation but it is dangerous for mammals unless in a protected area. That's why for advanced spirit travel - the body has to be protected and watched over. So what happens is the energy goes up into the brain for sublimation - this works via the right side vagus nerve which then goes to the back side of the lower body and connects to the reproductive organs - as the brain fills up then the qi energy moves over and empties out the left side conceptual thoughts of the brain - for true Emptiness to emerge - and then the left side vagus nerve is activated to bring the qi energy down the front of the body to open up the heart more. So then you store that energy in the lower tan tien as the battery of the body. As your yin qi energy builds up - first the kidneys get hot, then the thymus gland and as the heart builds up then it opens up the pineal gland more and the pineal gland gets real hot. After that heat - then the yang qi kicks in so there should be very strong electromagnetic fields being created - and so this is the heart-pineal gland connection from the deep synchronization of the microtubules of the neurons throughout the body. When the electromagnetic energy is very strong then you go into "immortal breathing" which means physical breathing is needed less and less - because breathing is just a chemical exchange but the electromagnetic energy works like electrolysis and so can create the chemicals directly from the electromagnetic fusion - and so the top of the head will get soft like a baby - and the top of the skull will actually open up and also the top of the skull will pulsate with electromagnetic energy. You've got a potpourri of practices going on for a beginner I am not sure where your getting your advice from so far but I tend to think your practices could be a recipe for harming your one way or another. You're calling reverse abdominal breathing (RAB) advanced but say your a beginner doing semen retention with several other things. Does your system even know how to reconcile everything your doing? I would start over. I don't like to suggest that there is only one way to do things as *some* might be able to handle something advanced as a beginner but your story is worrisome. Before you even consider RAB, I would do about 2 months of normal abdominal breathing (NAB) with a focus on filling the LDT and letting it release through the body. Then do 2 months of the orbit using NAB. This will encourage the filling to continue but you'll then engage the back with the front. By training the front to do NAB orbit (microcosmic orbit- MCO), you stand a better change of the RAB getting it down the front. So somewhere around 4+ months, you could consider the RAB. I would forget semen retention. If you do the NAB and RAB properly with movement of the Huiyin (perineum) in sync with breathing, you'll develop a good 'lock' on losing qi through the lower part of the body. I am also seeing what may be an imbalance of too much 'stillness' over gentle 'movements'... this is also why you need to consider to start over with a newer plan. That is much safer for a beginner till you have 6-12 months behind you.
soaring crane Posted April 23, 2015 I feel that this is a rather advanced practice and should not be dabbled with lightly. You're right! And if you can't get the qi to drop back down the front then I think you really should consider leaving this alone and spending a good long time building up a base of plain-jane Qigong or Taiji practice. You're doing too much energy work before you're ready to handle it.
