Compressing the chi in the Dan Tian

Recommended Posts

What do you guys think about compressing the air into the Dan Tian rather then allowing it to Sink naturally?

Comments Anyone?

Sinking naturally is one level.

Compression is using the muscles surrounding the area of compression...not the outside but the inside/underside of the muscles. Much more, will, intent, and strong concnetration, as well as having been well cultivated in Qigong before hand...or one will get knocked off their feet and fly to the floor... or pass out from the concentration of energy in one spot.. or even die^_^

Fun stuff!

Peace and Blessings,

Lin

According to my teachers, you must avoid ejaculation for a minimum of 3 days prior to attempting compression training, or risk rupturing and forever destroying the dan tein. I would not attempt this type of thing without guidance from an Lei Shan Dao Teacher.

One must have reached a certain level of cultivation to succeed, yes, as well as needing

someone who is well versed in it to guide them.

I recommend "Taoist Yoga: Alchemy and Immortality" -- the chi is converted back into stillness in my opinion -- through ionization. Isn't this what "jumping into emptiness" really means? haha.

Yes. Less is more.

Compression breathing as your describing it is a type of breath retention and should be engage very carefully, as the air/water you're pushing around inside you is under pressure. You should be doing other practice to support this type of training. Don't go imploding your guts now, ya 'hear?
