U.K. Labour Party leadership result

Recommended Posts

At midday the result of the Labour Party leadership election will be announced.

I for one hope that the right choice is made and that the new leader is both a Red Star Socialist and an undoubted bundle of fun. There is really only one man for the job isn't there?

I'm hoping he wins. Then we can get to it, building the Labour coffin and writing the obituary. Next we need to dump 'Mr slippery' ( TM peter Hitchens ) and his pretend Conservative party. I still think that it might well be Burnham at the ballot box, I cannot believe they are really going to elect Corbyn. If they do, then that first PMQs will make unusually popular viewing.

Its amazing that Corbyn is going to win, because hardly anyone agrees with his politics but he is only one out of all the candidates who actually speaks from a genuine position or belief about anything, all the others are so robotic and false its ridiculous

Being a Brit myself - I am very interested to see how he will affect politics here. He is the only Labour candidate with very clear policies, i.e. get rid of nuclear arms, tax the rich more heavily and re-nationalise public services such as the rail. I couldn't tell you what any of the policies of the other candidate are, they don't really have them.

Okay.   So now what happens?  Does he have enough power or partnerships to be able to make changes?

We are going through about the same thing here in the USA.  Donald Trump seems to be the only one who is actually telling us what he thinks, what he would do, and is being honest about it.

Personally, I don't trust him, but maybe my feelings will change.

Labour will split, with Chukka and Liz Kendall starting a new Blairite style party I suspect. Then Labour will collapse as it should. This two party politic is over and done. I think-conspiracy mind engaged-that this is an attempt to continue the status quo by pushing a more leftist Labour Party in order to re-engage an apathetic electorate who despise politicians.

That sounds a lot like the Bernie Sanders situation in the US

The good thing is that the whole TTIP package has eventually made the left realise that membership of the EU is part of a corporate and not a people's club. The situation in Greece has highlighted that the EU/ECB/IMF were never about supporting a new USSEU. At least there is more likely hood of opening a debate which Cameron has been trying to close down. I imagine this will occupy 'Mr slippery' as a major threat to his fiefdom. He also doesn't want any more interventionism in other countries which IMO is a good thing and will annoy the NeoCons and their rich backers.

As a double bonus we can likely wave goodbye to the Green Party as 'environmentalists' does not form a central tenant in Corbinite policy. I watched an interview with the deposed leader Mr 'Wallace' milliband who is touting his two main areas of concern as 'fairness' and 'climate change'. That's most certainly wearing 'Agenda 21' on his sleeve- a Fabian first and foremost.

Most Americans have never even heard of Agenda 21 despite us having signed on to it years ago. When people are informed, their first inclination is to dismiss it as conspiracy theory because it has been presented to them as disjointed "good ideas" rather than as a cohesive plan. Those few who will dig into it on their own realize it is they way you cook a frog...

When fringe politicians are elected it may not be so bad.  There craziest ideas are blocked, but maybe there bolder less controversial programs get through.  Every system needs an enema now and then.    Such people cause a re-evaulation of everything.   Old traditions are looked at closely to see if there's a better way.

Good things can come out of bad politicians, strangely enough.

I thought it was just a conspiracy theory for a long time. It's all part of this fourth world/wilderness/unesco/club of Rome/EU/Fabian sect. At one time they had worked the 'global warming' into the population that it just seemed normal, but since the Kyoto treaty collapsed it's easy to pick the politicians who are clearly working for this agenda. Milliband, Junker and Obama have recently tried promoting it as the most important threat of our time, but people have had enough of global threats when they get ISIS and economic meltdown. The feminist movement continues, but even that feels like it might now be in trouble.

Ever looked at this: it's right good fun. Just click on the subjects and it takes you to the interconnects. Taomeow should like it.

Most things that come out of politicians are warm and sticky. I like it better when there is Ketchup or the muffled sound of drowning.

It doesnt matter if corbyn wins, he's not going to enact any major change, just as Obama didnt enact any major change.

The cause for this isnt that he's incompetent or lazy. The cause is that our political paradigm favours heavy compromises that often result in watered-down solutions. A conservative administration isnt very conservative and a Labour one isnt very leftist.

Oh and there are a lot of longterm factors that influencw our economy and societies, but our politicians only deal with the short term. So often they treat the symptoms but not the cause, and their initiatives end up being moderately effective at best.

The solution is for all of them to listen to me, of course. And then we'd all be better off, ahem :).
