Andrei Posted March 8, 2016 Oh, by this do you mean that you were rested enough which didn't make you tired come bed time to get a full night's sleep? Yes, if you are not tired enough and I mean physically tired then the cortisol cycle is out of whack. You need to do some physical activity to increase temporarily the cortisol but then at night the cortisol goes low and let serotonine build so that you produce melatonine. But if you are mentally tired (brain work) but not physically tired (muscle work) the cortisol stays high during night time, hence the isomnia.
Andrei Posted March 8, 2016 Andrei, insomnia is not only caused by imbalances in the Wood element. The main culprit is the Heart (Fire element). All the best! Hi Gerard, This is exactly what I was saying. I have great respect and I really appreciate your input, best regards for you too!
Gerard Posted March 9, 2016 Most welcome Andrei It's all a long journey and the "doors" will open themselves slowly and progressively when the conditions are right (according to your own effort). I last week had a vision of the "Earth trigram" coming to me like a message, some sort of signal telling me that my journey's success will be entirely dependent on adopting it as the main focus of practice. I'm very thankful to the spirit that sent it to me. Sometimes I follow "Heaven" (the opposing trigram to Earth) too much and as a result I hurt my Yin! Not good at all. I have been doing this all my life with the result of depletion. Things cannot be rushed or else one will suffer from exhaustion. Anyway, the OP has got his herbs, which makes now sense as a single herb is never prescribed from a Chinese Medicine doctor.

I spend 6-7 hours a day doing phone/computer work from home. I lift weights to give me something physical to do. This is 60% of the month. The other 40% I'm running the events I've set up, doing 14 hour days on my feet, lifting things etc. And still I can't sleep. I can only imagine that I'm not tired enough during my home period and come event days, my body is going "what on earth is going on??!!" What do you think? Andrei Posted March 13, 2016 Probably you should spend some time in nature, like going hiking or surfing not just city or indoor activities.
