Deekee Posted December 18, 2015 Hello Dao Bums. I am just now wading into a deeper level of Daoism after being aware of the "essence" of The Way for a while. At my core I finally feel a calmness guiding me to further investigate these teachings, and so I am here today following this magnetism. When I studied various philosophies before, it was generally not from a healthy place - it was more a place of veiled, corrupted desperation, the inferior self tainting the ideas of spirituality even. However, with time and discipline, I am beginning to catch the motives behind studying, and trying to seperate what is unhealthy from what is not. This is the first time I have been guided to studying (or at least guided where I have sensed it), for it is also the first time there has been no blinding excitement/compulsion/expectations in the beginnings of the undertaking. I look forward to exploring this community, and learning more from and alongside others. If you have Daoism resource recommendations, sharing them would help a lot too! Thanks
Daeluin Posted December 19, 2015 Hello and welcome to the forums, Deekee!Your membership is approved and we're happy you found your way to us. I hope you are able to find the answers you seek. In general I recommend the classics - the I Ching, Dao De Jing, and the Zhuangzi. Studying these over and over will reveal much. And of course there are many many more. Please take the time to read the two posts pinned at the top of the Welcome page and take a look at the forum terms and rules. This covers all you need to know when getting started. For the first week you will be restricted to ten posts per day but after that you can post as much as you like. Also, until you’ve posted fifteen times in the forums, you’ll be a “Junior Bum” with somewhat restricted access and will be allowed only two private messages per day.Good luck in your pursuits and best wishes to you,Daeluin and the TDB team
