Astral Monk Posted December 27, 2015 What are folks' experience with the five animal sports qigong? Where did you learn it? On its own or part of another system? Any benefits from practice? Is it an accessible qigong? Easy to learn? Is it formalized or more spontaneous? Whats the energetic goal? Is it similar to 8 Brochades practice (baduanjin) as a popular qi-calisthenic? Not too much on this in the forums, so I'd love to hear from anyone who makes this part of their daily practice. cheers, 8)

Baduanjing and 5 animals are good old traditional qigong (yangsheng) sets. But it's hard to find a proper variant nowadays to learn. Anyways, both baduanjing and 5 animals require a good ability to move and manage post celestial qi in the body. Their goal is to further improve of channel system and to work with the inner organs. Now we prefer Yuxianpai methods as more effective to achieve the same. Edited December 27, 2015 by opendao
