Lataif Posted January 8, 2016 Any suggestions for understanding/treating ringing in the ears . . . if there is no obvious organic cause (ear/sinus infections, nerve damage, etc)Â Â (?)Â Thanks . . . Â
wilfred Posted January 8, 2016 i suffer from tinnitus related to incoherent energy issues in the liver area. i believe hearing issues in general (non ear damage related) come from blockages in liver channels, so that's a good place to start.
Astral Monk Posted January 8, 2016 Someone asked Chunyi Lin about this and he recommended some exercises...I'll have to check my notes... Â 8) Â
leth Posted January 8, 2016 In TCM there many different underlying causes for tinnitus. (but in general liver or/and kidney energies are involved somehow)  Therefore it is not really possible to make a single treatment for all forms of tinnitus but rather each case must be treated individually.
wilfred Posted January 8, 2016 (edited) at least with my tinnitus it hits peaks at certain times of day undoubtedly to do with the fluctuations in organ energies. noting the times it's worst at and then referring to TCM etc for when certain energies are strongest-weakest should provide further insight into the problem. Gerard Posted January 9, 2016 (edited) Leth is right and please let me also add internal dampness, hence the spleen is also involved. Â You need to see a TCM herbalist who will tailor an specific formula for you. Basically: Â 1. TCM herbal formula 2. Energetic practice, keep doing or start IMA practice or walking meditation for several hours a day if you possibly can. 3. Dietary changes 4. Get more sleep, make yourself more Yin 5. Lifestyle changes which have caused the condition in the first place. Â Please read this very informative page (http://www.classicalchinesemedicine.org/the-liver-and-gall-bladder-selected-readings/) about the Ministerial Fire and how nourishing Kidney Yin is vital in that regard. A whole school was developed (Yin Nourishing School) as a result of the research by one of China's greatest physicians and Daoist Zhu Danxi. Â Your treatment initially will address heart, lung, kidney, liver, spleen and the jiaos, later on as your condition starts to improve the formula will lessen its effect until you are back to have normal health according to Chinese Medicine. Please make sure, if you decide to go ahead, you buy fresh herbs and not pills in order to increase the efficiency of the treatment and decrease it's length. Â Best of luck! gendao Posted January 9, 2016 GB 39? Descends rising LV/GB heat - dizziness, tinnitus. Physical Imbalances: insomnia - waking up suddenly, very early in the morning and not being able to fall asleep again, tendons, tears, nails, eye diseases, glaucoma, and night blindness, stiff neck, ringing in the ears, dizziness Jing deficiencies: chronic ear problems, gradually increasing tinnitus or loss of hearing; mental slowness and confusion.
leth Posted January 9, 2016 GB-39 might work, but it might also not work, there are plenty of points that could work. But it's agross misunderstanding of TCM theory if you'd think that one particular point can always cure any one symptom.
Gerard Posted January 11, 2016 Exactly! Like reality itself everything is interrelated and as such TCM operates following this model, not by tapping into one point but by looking at the whole picture. TCM self-healing without having a good understanding of the theory and practice baed on thousands of hours of observation is actually counter-productive as you'll be punching multiple holes to a full balloon that will end up deflating itself instead of punching the "correct amount" and then homeostasis (balance) is attained. To put it simply, don't try to catch a fly wearing boxing gloves
