Mirrors the Telegraph votes which give it 70/30 to Brexit. It's also what Labour have found door to door and my own consensus amongst friends. It's also something overheard in Whitehall behind closed doors. All anecdotal of course.

At least we know it isn't just a few back benchers now. The leave campaigners have really made a mark. I'm not certain exactly what will happen 'in' or 'out' regarding future politics. I knew nothing about the leave campaign side other than Boris, Gove, Carswell and IDS. What is heartening is the quality of the women from both Conservative and Labour. Kate, Gisella and Angela have been stars.

 

I didn't enjoy the shouty, lectern thumping of the remain side in last nights debate. Can't see how that can come across anything other than bitter, angry negativity. Leave gave us calm, hope and optimism; remain gave us aggression, accusations, insults, fear and depression.

 

I feel that several of these politicians including all of UKIP will, in the event of a leave vote, act as the watchdogs on our behalf. There has been too much invested for it to be otherwise. I also think this election has opened dialogue and people's eyes. It's brought more people into the sphere of political discourse and that must be a good thing. If it is a vote for remain, then every new regulation, law, or change will be met by far greater protest than it had previously. Whatever happens politics is changed for ever.

I agree that much has changed as a result of the E.U. referendum  and should the vote go in favour of remaining within the E.U. then it will be a far from easy road that the remainiacs will have to tread.

 

I have never known such fervour in any U.K. election and it has all been from the Leave side. Those supporting a remain vote have displayed only fear and ennui.

 

I can best demonstrate the feeling of those opposed to the Super State by quoting Milton.

Yes they have been handed their arses but that would make no difference to the way they vote. We should also remember that Camerons "all of everything" is simply a whole lot of nothing.

 

I have just been to the Polling Station and it was a simple matter to identify the persons attending who would vote "OUT" as opposed to the humanity hugging, world without borders, social justice warriors who follow the remaniac cause. It is as depressing looking at them as it is listening to them.

Did you see Will Self last night ? The epitome of the leftist metropolitan elite, the disdain and contempt he had for those outside the metro bubble of London was palpable. It definitely reminds me of the wealthy Romans who poured scorn on the poor and the barbarian hordes, right up to the point when the barbarians were welcomed into Rome by those same poor who wished the Roman elite vanquished. As the young black woman standing beside Will said " you need to get out of London and see for yourself". "Oh" with the self satisfied air of a weary intellectual bored of hearing from the unwashed scum "I talked to a builder working on my home. You can't get anymore down to earth than a builder". The black woman looked at him incredulously and replied " a builder in London ? Will, you need to go to Stoke, or Leeds" even Jon Snow said "I think you are out of touch Will, I'm talking about Sunderland, she's talking about Stoke and you are talking metropolitan London".

The day has come, i'm still somewhat undecided but will probably vote remain, if we had a different government in charge one that I trusted not to use the opportunity of leaving to enrich their friends and screw over the common worker even further I would probably vote leave. But as it is leaving would probably make things worse in the sense that many of the things that the EU is blocking such as TTIP and many environmental de-regulations our current government supports and tries to push onto Europe, which I believe would be a complete disaster for us and without EU blocking it would be a free pass for them to implement it on Britain. I don't believe they have any intention to lower immigration even if we do leave as they are the biggest supporters of big business who benefit from the depressed wage. So as bad as it sounds I believe the EU is a regulating factor on our current government, who are basically a bunch of wankers and the Labour party are completely inept so they aren't getting elected any time soon, so it is the wrong time to leave in my view.

Will Self epitomises the London Champaign Socialist. Raised in Hampstead by a father who was a professor at the London School of Economics. I do fully understand what you mean by "the metro bubble of London" as I have a Step-Daughter who resides in North London and is very much a member of the Champaign Socialist Set. There really is no reasoning with them.

 

I am sorry that Jetsun is voting to remain in the Super State believing that this is the wrong time to leave. I can understand his argument but will just remind him that this may prove the only time to leave the E.U. as the Super State may well prevent any future attempt for us to break our chains as their iron grip grows ever tighter.

I was also shocked at the fact that you don't even need to produce any I.D. You just give them a name, they cross it off a list and you then post your vote. This means at the end of the day, all the people who couldn't be bothered to turn out are then effectively unused votes.

 

You can now cross a load of these 'no-shows' off the list and fill up the ballet box with a load of completely untraceable votes for whichever out come you like. Democracy at it best!

It's been confirmed that we need to build 240 new houses a day for the ongoing future to keep up with the current levels of immigration... which isn't going to happen . Basically they want to cram everyone in like battery hens so a few people at the top can make a few more million while paying rock bottom wages.

From what I have read here it sounds as bad or worse than I thought it sounds. It basically confirms that the target number of houses can't be fulfilled even if they want to and with record numbers of immigration last year how is that sustainable? For someone relatively young like me who lives in the South East I am basically screwed when trying to buy my own home unless both me and my partner can somehow get a job at a minimum of double the average wage,and even then it won't be easy. The younger generation are more or less screwed unless they inherit wealth or property .
