That's because all those islands were Atlantis type islands and when the volcano went "poof" the island became unpopulated.

Is that the Atlantis in an alternative dimension like Howels moving castle ?

You lost me with that one.  Nothing in my brain to relate that with.

It's a book and a film out of Gibhli studios.

If you want a treat of a film then get Spirited away. It's a Japanese animation.

Howls moving castle has doors which go to different places and the castle moves around in a kind of 4th dimension. Both films have similar themes, with spirited away being far better IMO. Stosh would love them.

I feeeel Bruce died of a drug overdose of his own doing, and that gods are imagined parents, and that Karl is too restricted in his definition of infinity. :)

Bruce was a metal dragon. A good moral person (metal) but as a dragon with a tendency to overdo things (wood)! :) Overdose of calming substances I would say due to his overtraining mentality.

Back to gods humans and all sentient beings. How real are you? No more than the gods. Everything is empty, we all flow to the Tao in a huge energetic mass, like a river flowing to the sea. This is the true nature of realiy. Try to discover this through whatever your practice may be.

Some very sensitive people came across this via drug use, but this doesn't bring wisdom and its only a temporary peek into the abyss. One of those people, English poet and romantic William Blake:

“If the doors of perception were cleansed every thing would appear to man as it is, Infinite. For man has closed himself up, till he sees all things thro' narrow chinks of his cavern.”

Others through long term practice of TJQ like author of Infinite Dao, Patrick Kelly.

Others via Bagua and the magic ability of circle walk, which is basically a way of returning to the point of origin (microcosm → macrocosm, macrocosm → microcosm) , like this:

Gods are just like a supersized and supercharged version of man. But ultimately they are as real as an empty cup....LIKE US! :)

The Tao created everything and nothing because everything flows in and out of it.

What is the Tao and what is beyond the Tao itself. The billion dollar question, not even 1,000 Buddhas together will give you an answer to that.

Back to this minuscule reality: enjoy your little cup of tea and be a good person. This is what really counts in the end.

:)

Do

Do coconuts fall on unpopulated islands ? .. perhaps they fly towards the sky when ripe?

Look Stosh, I already explained this all scientific like .... if that sort of thing happened the air would be full of dead birds .     :)

But really, we do know gravity is 'flexible' ... if the surface is hot and designed a specific way    ( Leidenfrost effect )

There are no need of coconut trees on unpopulated island so they don't grow there, come to think of it there arent any unpopulated islands there just seems like there might be.

If I look up my location ( where several hundred people live) on Wiki ... it says there are no residences here ... but some farms .

... nobody here , just us chickens .

Oh yeah I forgot the birds, which is funnier, in my haste . But Im thinking the effect of the vaporizing water , is counterbalancing gravity which is still there,.,, otherwise the water drop would just  ..'get up and leave'.

The other weekend I followed google maps to a park ,discussed on the web , linked with a google map link .

I'd driven a long way,  having 'arrived at my destination' , there was nothing there ,but the end of a cul-de-sac at the end of someones driveway. I wonder if people purposely dick with the maps to gain a cloak of invisibility.

Nah, the park had a cloak of invisibility.

The park may have escaped the gravitational force of the planet and now it is somewhere in empty space.

One of the things about Chapel Perilous  ( whether it is a hidden castle in the forest or an old shoemaker's shop .... after the experience you come back to  do a 'reality check' and ..... gone !   vacant lot, no such number, no such zone .

If we could stop time somehow.

In a relative sense if you travel a lot on jet aircraft you age very slightly slower than those who don't fly. That advantage disappears if you eat the onboard snacks.

I park on the streets where we live and parking is very limited so I'm often parked several blocks away... I like the walk, especially early in the mornings before dawn, I'll stretch it out and enjoy the quiet and the songs of the early birds.

One morning, while walking to my truck with my son, it went something like this:

Son:  Hey, the house is gone again.

Me:   What house?

Son:  (pointing between houses) there.  Sometimes there's a house in between those houses and sometimes it's not, like now, it's not.

Me:   Between those houses?  Are you sure?  Maybe you're thinking of another block where it looks similar.

Son:  No, you park here all the time and I see it sometimes.

Me:   That is profoundly cool!  I wonder how that could be... or who could live there.  What kind of house is it?

Son:  ... I dunno, it's a house, but different.  I can't explain it.
