sillybearhappyhoneyeater Posted March 15, 2016 http://www.teachampionship.com/tc16/Public/Content.aspx?ID=1063831 my company Chayo tea friends just won second place in the baked and aged Oolong category for the north American tea championships with our honey tieguanyin from Muzha Taiwan. Last year we won first place with a coal baked tieguanyin under our old label "the tea kings," and I'm glad we were able to get a good placement again this year. :) Just wanted to share, since this is really great news for me :)

Nungali Posted March 15, 2016 Congagraduations ! I like food competitions ... especially the one's with free samples ! Here, one can go to the Country Women's Association bake-off . If you go to one of their competitions , there have all these tarts there . And they will let you taste what they baked .

sillybearhappyhoneyeater Posted March 16, 2016 If I were willing to pay the $5000 to get a booth at the Tea Festival held by the same organization as the event, I would be able to give you samples. Just come to Toronto and drink tea with me there!! Pu'er, Oolong, its all good!!

gendao Posted March 17, 2016 I disagree, all the way! Congrats to the OP. I will give it a try, thank you for the suggestion. Key protip - I believe the 2nd steep of puerh tea is the good-tasting one!
Gerard Posted March 19, 2016 Pu'er, Oolong, its all good!! Of course! My comment was about what tea would you take along for a 10-year mountain retreat, you can only bring one type...kind of the desert island thing. I just like the aggressive nature of certain raw puerh cakes (very yang) and then the mellow and deep calming (yin) nature of aged cakes. Hahaha. The Chinese know how to play with yin and yang, like the sun and the moon.
