Transgender Problem

Recommended Posts

-- Transgendered people going into public bathrooms.

Why, after all these decades after, say Christine Jorgensen and other publicly known transgendered individuals, is this suddenly a crisis in 2016?  That's what makes this whole "controversy" stirred up by McCrory disingenuous.

Ah OK.

Yeah, society has had decades of trans people firmly in the public eye and only now has bathroom use become a newsworthy issue. Silly.

It's the thing people do. It happens around everything. My topic "Tattoos" highlighted how tattooing fades in and out of public acceptance, with people regularly forgetting that it's been going on for centuries. Transvestites, if not completely surgically altered transsexuals, have existed throughout history, and have been alternately accepted and demonized. At least, I suppose, we're in a place and an age of relative acceptance..?

Transgender problems are inbalance of yin and yang (so as being gay etc.) there are herbs that can cure it.

Doubtful!

Doubtful!

The same forces which determines you to become transgender can be altered to determine what is called "normal" in society. Nobody becomes transgender by choice.

The proof is in the pudding...you don't hear of transgender or gay people becoming straight by taking herbs, doing qigong, etc.

because they do not taking those herbs as they thinking that their inbalance of yin and yang is normal. I doubt that qigong would change anything in that matter, herbs are better to change post-natal qi which determines those aspects.

As is New Zealand... Meet Georgina Beyer:

And she was elected in 1995

New Zealand has often been ahead of the curve on a lot of issues.  I consider it more home to me than the US (I only lived there three months, but desperately tried to emigrate there in 2007.  I've gone back to visit a few times since then).

No one should be surprised about this... Here come the bathroom vigilantes:

https://www.yahoo.com/news/bathroom-bill-supporters-police-public-restrooms-222212246.html

...Aimee Toms claims to have encountered a similar experience at a Walmart in Connecticut last week. According to a video posted on Toms’ Facebook page, the 22-year-old — who is also not transgender — was approached by a woman in the Walmart bathroom who told her, “You are not supposed to be here, you need to leave.”

Confused, Toms says she stated that she did, in fact, belong there, to which the woman replied by giving her the finger and saying “You’re disgusting,” before storming out of the bathroom.

It wasn’t until after the woman had left that Toms, who had been wearing a baseball cap over her short hair, says she finally realized, “Holy s***, she just thought I was somebody who was transgender and she thought I was a dude who was hiding in the women’s bathroom.”

In just four days, Toms’ Facebook video has received close to 65,000 views and hundreds of comments, many of them supportive. But, Toms told the New York Daily News, the post has also elicited harsh words from anonymous critics calling her names like “lesbian” and “whore.”

“People have irrational fears, I’d like for them to know this simply isn’t something to be so angry about,” she told the Daily News. “Transgender people affect their lives in no way, shape, or form.”

Another video that went viral on Facebook last month shows police officers forcibly ejecting a masculine-looking woman from a public restroom....

Next up, lynch mobs, or maybe a pogrom.  I'm not joking.  It isn't history that repeats itself, but distorted human nature.

“Universal literacy was supposed to educate the common man to control his environment. Once he could read and write he would have a mind fit to rule. So ran the democratic doctrine. But instead of a mind, universal literacy has given him rubber stamps, rubber stamps inked with advertising slogans, with editorials, with published scientific data, with the trivialities of the tabloids and the platitudes of history, but quite innocent of original thought. Each man's rubber stamps are the duplicates of millions of others, so that when those millions are exposed to the same stimuli, all receive identical imprints. It may seem an exaggeration to say that the American public gets most of its ideas in this wholesale fashion. The mechanism by which ideas are disseminated on a large scale is propaganda, in the broad sense of an organized effort to spread a particular belief or doctrine.”

Do you have the book ? I would recommend it, although there is nothing inherently new, it's the way in which Bernays is really using it as an effective lobby tool for his services to Governments. It gives a very different spin on things because he isn't inherently speaking to the mass man, but to corporate heads and politicians.

Also 'the crowd' by gustav le Bon is worth a read.

http://www.alternet.org/civil-liberties/red-state-gay-porn-habit-why-conservative-states-mississippi-and-north-carolina-lead

This speaks volumes!

Mississippi and North Carolina recently passed some of the harshest laws in the nation targeting the LGBT community. As statistics from PornHub show, congressmen might be legislating against queer and trans people, but their constituencies sure do love to watch them have sex. The Daily Dot reports that Mississippi ranked third (behind Washington, D.C., and New York) in a recent PornHub survey on the amount of porn consumed by state. The Magnolia State, in particular, shows a disproportionate preference for black gay porn, while the South boasted three of the top five states with the highest rate of gay porn viewership.

The personal trials of a young girl, 'Max', who transitioned and finally regretted it:

https://4thwavenow.com/2016/04/

Exactly what is your point? You seem to be a Buddhist practitioner and yet are making judgements about what you fail to understand. Human nature and evolutionary processes are a complicated matter and simplified judgements fail.

ralis,

Respond to a part of Max's testimony by quoting a passage and I will pay attention.

What you think about my points or motives or judgements is off topic and wrong anyway.

Transgenderism is a big story in the news and I am interested in the notion and the speed with which acceptance of it has spread.

You are proceeding from an incorrect conclusion in that one person has regrets and therefor it is a major problem with how many persons? Have you completed a statistical sampling of transgenders? Focus groups and interviews? Your OP states transgender is a problem which is a very generalized conclusion.

This is the bigotry that appears when anti transgender laws are instituted by individuals and governments.

Anti-transgender fliers with KKK contact info left at homes (AL)

Matt Elofson

The Dothan Police Department received a report of at least two local residents getting what police have called Ku Klux Klan fliers delivered to their homes ...

Capt. Will Benny, the supervisor of CID, said a man made a report to the Dothan Police Department on Monday of having received a flier from the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) at his home. Benny said the man, an east Dothan resident, also reported his neighbor had received one too.

“It appears to be against transgender and transgender bathrooms and it was basically a recruitment flier,” Benny said.

Benny said .. the flier.. also solicited donations ... Benny said the KKK flier and report were forwarded to the FBI as intelligence information ...

Except that 'Transgender' according to the Obama Government, has nothing to do with being a transvestite or somebody that has the intention of have elective surgery, or had surgery. In effect, any man or boy is now fully entitled to enter a women's/girls changing room, toilets or showers as long as they think they might be 'gender fluid'.

Well I can't see any problem with that :-/ I wonder if there is a seperate provision for Muslims because they have quite strict laws against that kind of thing. Just Christians and Atheists eh ;-)

I would imagine that a boy doesn't get to walk into school one day, say "I'm a girl now", and instantly get access to girls' bathrooms. Even the most supportive of trans rights are going to want to know that the kid's feeling of trans-ness is established and genuine..

You would imagine, but you would be wrong. This need to 'prove' is precisely what is being challenged because, they say this is anti-transgender. People are no longer to be labelled by gender, but to self identify as 'non binary'.

I think if you haven't been keeping up with these things you won't have grasped just how far things have already gone. This is of course a Collectivist ideology of denying identity.

It's also not limited to children, but that's where propaganda works the best. No need for a culture, family or gender. Just human packages stamped with a number.

By a minority; the majority of people are simply trying to be accepting and non-judgemental of people, to accept non-binary expression along with the normal male/female paradigm.

You do love to exaggerate eh?

I reject a large portion of the culture in which I was raised -- because it's fucking stupid. I am free precisely because I'm not bound by the shackles of traditional British values. I have my own 'culture', my own way of life, and rather than being based on wholly unexamined beliefs, as most cultures are (indeed the definition of 'culture' is generally based on being born into a way of life, which necessarily means accepting things without thinking about them), many (though I realize, not all) of my beliefs and a large part of my way of life are rooted in the exploration and experience of other cultures, philosophies I was not exposed to as a child, etc.

Going back to the whole refusal of service thing:

One innkeeper I know really doesn't enjoy having Chinese or other Asian guests. She says they're messier, more demanding, more likely to check out late, etc -- and from my experience of Chinese people, I absolutely understand where she's coming from. Shouldn't she have the right to reject people on the basis of culture, knowing how much more likely certain cultures are to make a mess, make demands, treat the help like second-class citizens?

Of course, if people started putting signs up saying "No Chinese" it would be a short space before "No Muslims", "No blacks", etc, and parts of society would eventually slide back into segregation, riots would ensue..... but I can't help but think that a business owner should have some kind of say over who she has dealings with..?

There are a self-identity and a perceived-identity.

If my self-identity is that of a chinese panda, this doesn't mean that people should treat me as a member of an endangered specie, imho.
