Dreamaer Posted May 19, 2016 Hello! I'm new to TDB and it has been a long time since I have used a forum, please forgive me for any lack of etiquette I may display. I'm the kind of guy who is generally obsessed with self-improvement and learning new things. As a result of my endless curiosity, I discovered some texts regarding Taoist self-cultivation practices and begun trying them out. I've never been that spiritually inclined so practices like these are a first. I began reading Mantak Chia's "Multi-Orgasmic Man" a few months ago and while I have learned many things, I realized that without the help or advice of some more experienced people I'd get bottlenecked at parts I don't understand. In the future I'd like to contribute to the forum and ask a few questions, if that is okay. Thanks.
Marblehead Posted May 19, 2016 Hello Dreamaer, and welcome. Your membership is approved and we're happy you found your way to us. We look forward to accompanying you on some of the way that you still have to go. Please take the time to read the two posts pinned at the top of this Welcome page and take a look at the forum terms and rules. This covers all you need to know when getting started. For the first week you will be restricted to ten posts per day but after that you can post as much as you like. Also, until you’ve posted fifteen times in the forums, you’ll be a “Junior Bum” with somewhat restricted access and will be allowed only two private messages per day. Good luck in your pursuits and best wishes to you, Marblehead and the TDB team Hi Dreamaer, Yes, it is good to have others we can say thing to and ask questions of if for no other purpose than to test our own understandings. And yes, please contribute. You are welcome to jump right in ongoing discussions, revive an older thread, start a new thread of your own, or start a discussion in the "Newcomer Corner" sub-forms to expand on your introduction or ask general questions to help you get started. May you enjoy your time here. Marblehead
manitou Posted May 21, 2016 Hi Dreamaer - So glad you found your way to us. That which is called 'the beginner's mind' is a thing of beauty - one who realizes he has things to learn from others. Plenty of folks remain stuck in ego and never attain The Beginner's Mind - and it is an attainment. Very best wishes to you as you continue in your learning journey, in our midst. Some here have the beginners mind, some do not. You're one of the lucky ones. I greatly look forward to your participation on the forum. Manitou
