horse Posted September 6, 2016 What symptoms would one experience if one has depleted their jing to a great extent? I'm worried that in the space of 5 years when I was on speed, I might have depleted a huge amount of jing. Is there a way to find out if this is the case? RiverSnake Posted September 6, 2016 (edited) Go to an experienced TCM doctor. But that aside, it might be a good time to make a change to ones life so you can regain lost life force. Eat healthy foods, get adequate sleep, be aware of how you handle your sexual energy and practice internal work so that you can start regaining potency in ones system and repair the damage done. Andrei Posted September 6, 2016 (edited) There is no such a thing as Jing deficiency. There is Yin deficiency or Yang deficiency. Which can be translated as too much dopamine and too little serotonin, or too much serotonin and too little dopamine or some other neurotransmitters. What you have is a dopamine dysregulation syndrome, which means your dopaminergic neurons are over used and probably worn out so you need a recovery time to rewire your brain to healthy levels. If you cut the amphetamine suddenly your dopamine receptors are still there and need stimulation so you still need to produce your own dopamine but in a natural way. So here is a way to do that, basically you have to exercise and eat healthy. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amphetamine#Addiction https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dopamine_dysregulation_syndrome http://www.peaktestosterone.com/Natural_Dopamine_Increasers.aspxhttp://mentalhealthdaily.com/2015/04/07/foods-that-increase-dopamine-think-tyrosine/ http://mentalhealthdaily.com/2015/04/17/how-to-increase-dopamine-levels/ If you don't produce your dopamine naturally you will experience low dopamine syndrome so you'll crave it, but if you continue the drug, the dopamine neurons will increase in number until you no longer are able to give them the dopamine they need and when you age you develop Parkinson disease: http://mentalhealthdaily.com/2015/04/02/low-dopamine-levels-symptoms-adverse-reactions/ In my opinion the brain has "neural-plasticity" which means you can change and rewire your brain, but only if you know what are you doing. These things with "jing deficency" are metaphors of ancient Chinese that explain their world view but they are not accurate and may mislead you to dangerous practices. Gerard Posted September 7, 2016 I'm worried that in the space of 5 years when I was on speed, I might have depleted a huge amount of jing. That's one method. But there are many others...and stress is one of the greatest and less talked about. As advised, go to a Chinese Medicine doctor asap and stick to the advice given to the letter. Best!
