iowabum Posted September 18, 2016 I found this group by googling : 9 Palaces System from the White Cloud Monastery by Baolin Wu . I hope to learn have contribute as much as I can. Iowa being not the most popular Taoist learning area, I will need to ask questions and just learn. Thank you , Dan
Marblehead Posted September 18, 2016 Hello iowabum, and welcome. Your membership is approved and we're happy you found your way to us. We look forward to accompanying you on some of the way that you still have to go. Please take the time to read the two posts pinned at the top of this Welcome page and take a look at the forum terms and rules. This covers all you need to know when getting started. For the first week you will be restricted to ten posts per day but after that you can post as much as you like. Also, until you’ve posted fifteen times in the forums, you’ll be a “Junior Bum” with somewhat restricted access and will be allowed only two private messages per day. Good luck in your pursuits and best wishes to you, Marblehead and the TDB team Hi Dan, Yeah, I wold think that there aren't many Taoist Temples in Iowa. And feel free to ask your questions. Most times here there are more answers than there are questions. You are welcome to jump right in ongoing discussions, revive an older thread, start a new thread of your own, or start a discussion in the "Newcomer Corner" sub-forms to expand on your introduction or ask general questions to help you get started. May you enjoy your time here. Marblehead

cold Posted September 18, 2016 Welcome! For the most part here, like in life, what you sow determines what you reap.

Iowa being not the most popular Taoist learning area, I will need to ask questions and just learn. Thank you , Dan Dear Dan, Welcome to 'Dao Bums'. I used to live in Iowa (along with 8 other states), and for sure, trying to find anything Daoist there is a pretty long shot. Maybe some Tai Chi classes at some of the local university's, but I bet even that is a pretty hard to find thing. I used to (weekly) put up posters at my local public library there, to study the Tao Te Ching (Dao de Jing), but they were always torn down in a few days. Not too many open minds in Iowa, I'm glad that you are one of those! Welcome aboard! RiverSnake Posted September 18, 2016 Wherever there is a Tree, a sky and a blade of grass there is the Dao to study. Welcome.
