cucumberice Posted September 30, 2016 Hi all: I’ve joined because I’m just starting to get into a proper amateur study of Daoism. I am coming from a perspective of Buddhist study of many years, where lately I’ve been following a thread from Japanese Rinzai Zen to Chan. Looking at some of the foundational material in Chan I find myself very drawn to Daoism, both historically and philosophically/spiritually. Those parts of Chan/Zen Buddhism that I most like may in fact be their strong Daoist component, and so Daoism what might be what I am actually most interested in studying. From a practical standpoint I’ve been trying to maintain a Taichi practice for a few years, which has been hit-or-miss. I have a whole lot to learn and I’m eager to dive in.
